Position Description:

The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2024 at the Fort Worth, TX location. Alcon interns will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. They will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly.  Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Display creative problem-solving skills to achieve client objectives.

• Proficient with the Macintosh OS and software including but not limited to, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

• Keep current with computer technology, hardware, and software.

• Possess an average to high degree of color acuity.

• Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy. Frequent internal company and external contacts.

• Assist other designers as assigned by supervisor. Maintain sensitivity to global and cultural differences as it applies to design.

• Display a high degree of professionalism, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, presentation, teamwork, and written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adjust to rapidly shifting priorities to achieve deadline objectives while diminishing factors that could hinder progress.

• Ensure that all projects are completed on schedule, within budgetary constraints, and are accurate.

• Prioritize and report changes in project status daily.

• Creates, and produces marketing, advertising, and sales promotion materials to implement marketing strategies and sales objectives.

• Evaluates and modifies promotion or advertising programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.

• Must be pursuing at least a Bachelor's level degree in Creative Communications or Creative Design

• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0

• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)

• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)

• Ability to commit to a 10–12 week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Prior experience with PowerPoint; ability to create and edit presentation material

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Experience working with cross-functional teams

• BA or BFA Major in Graphic Arts or Advertising Design

• Portfolio of existing work that demonstrates design ability & potential.

As a Communications Specialist supporting Alcon's Global Internal Communications, you will be trusted with implementing effective communication plans, managing communication and change management projects, and ensuring consistent and engaging messaging across various platforms. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Writing, Editing, and Designing: Create and edit a wide range of communications materials, including executive communications, internal announcements, presentations, internal social media and blog posts, and other relevant content. Design visually appealing and engaging communication materials.
• Technical Skills: Expertise using communication tools such as Staffbase, Sharepoint Intranet, Viva Engage, and other relevant platforms to facilitate effective and efficient communication within the organization.
• Communication Plan Execution: Contribute to and execute communication plans aligned with organizational objectives and communications strategy to enhance employee experience and engagement.
• Change Management Project Management: Execute change management projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
• Executive Communications: Support execution of comms strategies for senior executives as assigned to ensure effective communications to internal stakeholders, including internal social media posts, dynamic content development and written instruments.
• Employee Experience and Engagement: Develop and implement deliverables to enhance employee experience, including internal events.
• Internal Events: Support the execution of internal events including global webcasts, leadership meetings, periodic and regular comms initiatives such as internal communication for earnings and community programming.
• Content Approvals: Coordinate and administer approval of communications materials in line with the Communications approval process.
• Crisis/Issue Management: Provide ad hoc communications support during crisis or issues management situations under the direction of senior corporate comms leadership.
• Confidentiality Management: Handle highly confidential information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality protocols.
• Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication technologies. Continuously learn and adapt to new tools and techniques to improve communication effectiveness.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Relevant certifications will be a plus.
• Experience in corporate communications or a related field, with a focus in writing, editing, and designing.
• Demonstrated expertise in change management communications and project management preferred.
• Strong technical proficiency in communication tools such as Staffbase, Sharepoint Intranet, Viva Engage, etc.
• Proven experience in executing communication plans.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience in supporting crisis communications and performing in high-pressure situations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in messaging.
• Experience in handling confidential information and exercising appropriate discretion.

Job Overview:

The role of the Enterprise Internal Business Development Officer (IBDO), Financial Institutions is to be the sales partner to the Enterprise External Business Development Officer (EBDO), Financial Institutions. They are responsible for driving outsized performance in the recruitment of new bank and credit union wealth management relationships to LPL Financial. This role will provide exposure throughout LPL, while supporting the end-to-end process of onboarding a new financial institution.

This position is designed for an individual with a background in Business-to-Business sales. Skills required include: organizational, communication, and ability to prioritize while executing quickly.  Having a strong work ethic, being an effective communicator, strong project management skills and a sense of diplomacy will be imperative to the success of in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with EBDO to add prospective Financial Institutions into the pipeline

• Partner with EBDO to provide solutions and strategies in efforts to move prospective Financial Institutions through the pipeline

• Schedule and prepare Home Office Vist (HOV) and Field Office Visit (FOV) meeting checklists; including agenda, internal partner coordination, and effective meeting planning

• Coordinate meeting follow-up items and draft responses to be sent to prospective financial institution

• Execute upon agenda delivery for all external and internal meetings and partner with sales strategy team to deliver effective content for prospective financial institution engagements 

• Participate with EBDO in regularly-scheduled check-ins with enterprises that specialize in the support of financial institutions

• Leverage underwriting system and work with advisor capital or corporate development to approve pricing and draft proposals

• Draft pricing proposal based on underwriting results

• Coordinate internal resources to draft RFP’s, focused primarily on getting "answers in boxes" (0-80% completion of RFP)

• Coordinate resources to introduce signed financial institution to transition team, includes scheduling kickoff call and potential advisor enrollment materials

• Draft and maintain prospect workbook and enterprise prospect profile documenting key facts and decisions of all prospective financial institution in the pipeline

• Attend weekly transition calls for committed financial institutions

• Request draft contracts, amendments and non-disclosure agreement within the legal portal

• Input contract accommodations in onboarding system once financial institution joins LPL

• Disburse onboarding form upon contract execute to establish institution ID

• Execute transition assistance disbursement process
