We have a unique opportunity in our Florida Engineering group! This internship will allow a student to learn about both Water Transmission and Utilities and Water/Wastewater Treatment. Our interns bring a fresh perspective and new energy to our teams. As a Freese and Nichols intern, you will learn and grow on real projects and be mentored by our amazing professionals. This opportunity is in our Tampa, Florida office and is NOT virtual. This is a great opportunity for a student to get experience in a dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for these positions.
About Water Transmission & Utilities: Provides engineering and management support for water pumping and pipeline systems - pump stations, pumps, pipelines, utilities, tanks, and valve facilities. Engineering support for all phases of a project lifecycle: planning/studies, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction.
About Water/Wastewater Treatment – Leads planning studies and plant designs for treatment facilities and provides construction phase and start up/commissioning services for advanced water, wastewater, and water reuse treatment systems for municipal, state, and federal clients.
Majors we hire:
- Civil/Environmental/Water Resource Engineering
- Biological and Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Perform specific and limited tasks within a broader assignment
- Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations
- Assist project manager as needed
- Collect, adjust, and correlate perform calculations, and recognize discrepancies in results
Qualifications
- Current student pursuing a BS or MS degree in one of the majors listed above
- Graduation date of August 2024 or later
Qualifications
- Experience with Excel, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, or GIS
- Student organizational involvement
