Serco have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join the Marine Technical Services team in Plymouth.

In this role you will be responsible for the technical management, maintenance and compliance with regulatory standards of assigned vessels within the contract. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will liaise closely with the Operations Department to maximise vessel availability to the customer and facilitate Contract delivery.

You will provide day to day management of delegated technical budget and oversight of assigned vessel crews and engineering staff.

We are looking for an experienced individual who will be able to deliver best practice and be an essential point of contact for our contract.

Main Accountabilities:
The Engineering Superintendent will be accountable for:

Customers:


- Delivering maximum vessel availability to Contract Managers by optimising planned downtime in cooperation with Operations and timely rectification of vessel defects.
- Conducting and reporting of routine vessel inspections to ensure Safety and Material standards are maintained.
- Forming part of the Engineering out of hours “on call” duty rosta as required.

Operational Excellence:


- Managing the technical aspects of vessel operations in alignment with Company SMS and ISM standards including document control and record keeping.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned vessels, monitoring performance and assisting with other vessels as necessary.
- Monitoring of Class and Flag Survey and Certification status, arranging timely preparation and conduct of surveys as required. Maintaining assigned vessels regulatory compliance at all times.
- Preparation and conduct of MoD Authority surveys and inspections as may be necessary.
- Assessment, monitoring and timely rectification of vessel defects in alignment with Company policies.
- Fully utilising, and monitoring compliance with, the Companies planned maintenance and purchasing systems.
- Arrangement and control of Contractors, acting as Authorising Person as necessary on Company vessels.
- Planning, preparation and management of vessel dry-docking and afloat repair periods, including drawing up of repair specifications suitable for tender and liaison with Class and Flag. Supervision may require on-site attendance at out of port repair facilities for prolonged periods from time to time.
- Assisting in the raising and progressing to delivery of goods and services requisitions in alignment with purchasing policy.
- Ensuring continuity of department service delivery in times of absence, by full and effective hand-over.
- Deputising for other Superintendents or the Technical Manager in times of absence, and undertaking other tasks as may be delegated from time to time. Ensuring Contract and Operations Managers and DPA are kept appraised of any matter effecting safety or operational delivery.

What you’ll need to do the role:


- Qualified to Class II (Motor) Certificate of Competency level. Other Maritime Qualifications may be accepted with significant professional experience at the appropriate level

PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Register new patients on iPMS (Information Patient Management System), ensuring double registration does not occur. Maintain out-patient follow-up waiting lists. Ensure that all referrals are put onto iPMS following the guidelines set out in the Trusts Access Policy. Ensure Choose and Book patients are correctly appointed on iPMS and send confirmation letters to the patient. Prepare hospital notes for clinics in line with Trust Waiting List and Directorate Policies. Invite new patients in chronological order for clinical outpatient sessions in conjunction with clinicians booking rules. Book follow-up appointments in chronological order for clinical outpatient sessions in conjunction with clinicians booking rules. Book follow-up appointments that have been requested by wards/medical secretaries in line with the follow-up waiting list procedures. As required, telephone patients with urgent/last minute appointments. Receive and deal with confidential telephone enquiries from patients. Be able to handle patient complaints. Take appropriate actions when clinic capacity alters, e.g. cancellations, over-bookings etc. Notify appropriate out-patient staff of changes/cancellations to clinics. Follow procedures for: requesting case notes, organising contents of case notes, requesting and printing clinic attendance lists. Ensure all case notes arriving into and departing from the department are traced on iPMS. Reception for the out-patient clinics. Book follow-up appointments when instructed to do so by the consultant or place on follow-up waiting list. To ensure there is adequate stationery and request supplies with relevant admin personnel. To assist the line manager in training other members of staff, as requested and able to cover opposing areas if requested by line manager. To carry out any other clerical duties as determined by the line manager. Work within the framework of the Trusts Waiting List Policy and Access Policy notifying the line manager of relevant issues in a timely manner. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Receive and deal with confidential and sensitive telephone enquiries from patients. Be able to handle patient complaints. Book all appointment/clinic lists for Day Assessment, via waiting lists following the APNs. You will be responsible for admitting all inpatients onto IPM. Deal with all department phone enquiries under the supervision of clinical staff. Cover reception duties including making sure all outcomes are completed for all clinics. Printing front sheets and labels for all new and follow up patients as required. Ensure availability of case notes for all admissions. Obtaining notes from other departments using computerised tracing system Tracing of notes in and out of ward using the computerised tracing system File all notes following the APN before they leave the department. Making sure all ward diaries are kept up to date and ordered in time. Liaising with other departments and secretaries regarding referrals, appointments, investigations to be arranged and updating IPM as per Trust Policy. (NB referrals and investigations should be delivered or phoned through and not put in post). Print off clinic lists and prepare notes as required with outcome sheets as needed. Entering and processing admissions into the ward diary for waiting list admissions and general booked admissions. Keep ward desk area tidy and free of clutter. Keep the ward office tidy and stationery replenished, distribute and redirect mail. General use of the VDU for clerical and identification purposes. Photocopying when required. Distribution of post and re-directing of mail. Liasing with Post Room staff for collection or urgent specimens. Work closely with medical staff and with other members of the disciplinary team. To integrate into the departmental team and be able to relate to patients and their families as well as work colleagues. Cover during annual leave and sickness as and when required and cover maternity reception as rostered. To undertake any additional training required to fulfil the role in line with service development. Other duties, which may be allocated by the Ward Manager or Service Line Manager Ensuring notes are available and prepped for clinics in good time Entering new and follow up waiting lists and appointments onto iPM Sending out outpatient appointment notification letters as needed. Ensure theatre lists for elective LSCS and ERPOC are generated in good time and maintain the LSCS waiting list by liaising with clinical staff daily. Make sure maternity reception have a daily copy of the section lists. Ensure blood bank have received a copy of the Anti D list the day before the clinic to ensure drug available in time. Ensure all data quality issues are dealt with swiftly under management supervision. You will need to be able to prioritise you workload on a daily basis and work professionally within a busy environment.

Work with a range of clinical and non-clinical staff within the Cardiology Service Line. Provide and receive complex information about patient care and interpret instruction to relay to varying recipients specific to clinical referrals or clinical results. To be proficient in the use of CRIS, CVIS and iPM systems. Works closely to develop good working relationships with Imaging Team, Fast Track Co-ordinators, Secretaries, nurses, consultants and the wider Cardiology Service Line. Develop appropriate systems to manage their own workload. Operates on their own initiative whilst bearing the overall directorate aims and responsibilities. To ensure that a clear understanding is obtained surrounding data quality, data protection, patient information management systems (iPM) and be able to work within these guidelines at all times. Ordering patient information and updating as necessary. Assist with teaching and educating other members of staff. Ensuring that patient experience remains the focal point for service improvement. Achieving UHPNT specific targets relating to referral triage, Referral to Treatment, DM01 diagnostic targets and governance processes/protocols.

This is a winter peak role guaranteed for 6 months minimum

We will be recruiting for 1 Day Driver and 1 Night Driver.

42.5 hour guarantee

£16.89 Standard + £20 night rate bonus per shift for those on nights.

£24.34 over time after 42.5 and on weekends.

Night shifts start in the afternoon around 3pm and Days between 0400 and 0600 depending on requirements, flexibility is needed.

Homecare Administration To co-ordinate Homecare processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, safe working systems, and the legal framework for the Supply of Medicines. To maintain the EMIS drug files for prices, removal of out of use templates, contract reference maintenance and contract pricing. To manage new drug file requests To ensure SOPs and Forms are regularly updated on Q-Pulse and to notify staff of changes. To manage/support the appropriate electronic archiving of Homecare documentation. To help with patient transitions when new contracts are awarded. To manage the complaints and incidents process and distribute prior to PPSA meetings. To manage IV Antimicrobial referrals. To support the Lead and Senior Pharmacy Technicians with reporting into relevant quality management systems. To manage/support the daily Homecare Team huddle and attend other relevant huddles. To manage the generic email and efficiently and effectively resolve queries. To support the investigation of Datix, and the reporting of deviations. To arrange urgent Service Review Meetings if a service is not fulfilling its obligations. To participate in regional face-to-face and MS Teams meetings and bi-monthly conference calls with the Peninsula Purchasing Supply Alliance (PPSA). To participate in contract re-tenders. Prescription Management To supervise the prescription management workflow. To support the building, authorisation and distribution of patient specific order prescriptions by the most appropriate methods. To assist the team in the introduction and use of E-Sign (e-Rx). Invoicing To support the various statements of accounts that are received from each Homecare provider in a timely manner and the updating of the statements to accurately reflect the status of debt. To manage/support the download and appropriate storage of invoices from portals and emails To manage the matching and price checking of invoices against Homecare prescriptions. To manage/support the payment of invoices and the resolution of queries. To ensure all due invoices have been passed for payment by month end unless in query. To chase any missing invoices before month end. To manage/support the prompt resolution of credits that have been issued by the Homecare suppliers. Training To attend relevant manager courses. Participate in the PWDS Screening competency when the opportunity arises. Train new members of staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 1. To assist the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Clinical Trials in ensuring that the documentation, processes and procedures for the handling of IMPs within the pharmacy department meet the relevant current UK and European legislation, ICH GCP guidelines and GMP principles required by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA), National Patient Safety Alerting System (NPSAS), Regional Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Services and relevant clinical trial sponsors. 2. To assist in co-ordinating the pharmaceutical input into the setting-up, design and running of clinical trials at the UHPNT. This will involve close liaison with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff and R&D department. 3. To act as the deputy to the lead pharmacist for the provision of IMPs for all active clinical trials. 4. To support in the critical review of clinical trial protocols on their impact on pharmacy, e.g. packaging, labelling and documentation, incorporating further comments from appropriate specialist clinical and production services pharmacists where required. 5. To assist the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team in producing and checking costings for clinical trials where necessary. 6. To assist with the raising, completion and implementation of all relevant IMP and NIMP documents, controlled procedures, feasibility assessments, prescriptions, dispensing procedures, accountability logs, and stock management records. 7. To ensure appropriate use of IMPs within the pharmacy and support in the production and maintenance of dispensing procedures for all CTIMPs. 8. To provide written instructions and training for pharmacy staff on how to dispense, label, check, handle the IMPs, and perform code-breaks. 9. To assist with training and accreditation of pharmacy staff for clinical trials. 10. To liaise with the pharmacy clinical trials team to assess the impact of substantial amendments on local trial documentation. 11. To accurately screen, dispense, check prescriptions and counsel patients regarding their medication as required in accordance with the particular study protocol, chemotherapy prescriptions produced on both the electronic prescribing system and paper templates. 12. To supervise the initial check and preparation of IMPs and NIMPs for all active clinical trials. To undertake the final check for these products made under section 37 exemption of the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulation 2004 taking responsibility for the final release of medicinal products to patients including Intrathecal products. 13. To support the pharmacy investigations into study issues and incidents involving IMP, ensuring appropriate documentation and completion of any actions. 14. To maintain a good working relationship with sponsors, monitors, the R&D department, auditors and regulatory authorities. 15. To ensure that the confidentiality and security of information and data about study subjects and clinical trial studies are maintained and respected. 16. To undertake and maintain a record of personal Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 17. To ensure medicines are prescribed and administered in line with local and national policies, and within the legal framework. 18. To provide day-to-day supervision and support to the pharmacy clinical trials staff and rotational pharmacists working in the Pharmacy Clinical Trials. 19. To coordinate with the Clinical Trials Specialist Assistant Technical Officer the daily workload of injectable IMPs and NIMPs to the wards and departments taking clinical priority and the capacity plan for the unit into account. 20. To be on the Trust register for the release of intrathecal chemotherapy from the pharmacy department according to relevant Department of Health guidelines and local Trust policy. 21. To ensure that safe and effective systems of work are followed within the unit in compliance with the COSHH (1988) Regulations. 22. To undertake audits and engage with Quality Improvement and practice research projects. Education and Training 23. Design and participate in training programmes for pharmacy, medical and nursing staff, where necessary. 24. Technical supervision and mentoring of other members of ward-based staff, including pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy support assistants and undergraduate students. 25. Provide competency based assessment of junior pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support assistants using work-based assessment tools. 26. Train trainee pharmacists in aspects of technical and clinical pharmacy practice to meet the General Pharmaceutical Councils competency requirements, acting as an accredited educational supervisor if required.

You'll play an active role in delivering training sessions to our teaching teams, exploring creative activities that enhance learning, and sharing invaluable insights from pupils. These sessions will have a lasting impact, especially for neurodiverse pupils or those who have experienced trauma, providing them with meaningful outlets when words aren’t enough.

You'll support a small caseload, offering 1:1 or group sessions to best meet the needs of the children. You'll also have protected time to develop your own clinical and mentoring skills, along with receiving regular clinical supervision.

To be a successful Creative Arts Therapist, you’ll need:

- A recognised Post Graduate qualification in Art Therapy/Music Therapy or Drama Therapy along with HCPC Registration.
- Great experience working as a Creative Arts Therapist.
- The desire and confidence to run supervisions and offer training and support to other Psychological Therapists.
- Good IT skills – We’ll train you on how to use our systems, but it would help if you had a working understanding of using Microsoft packages like Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- A full driving licence. Whilst this role is based in a single location, travel to other sites will be required at times including travel to our Tiverton Hub for team meetings and training where required.
