Your Role:

Addressing customer needs during deliveries and collections
Keeping the wagon clean and performing daily safety checks

To Achieve This, You Will Need:

HGV Class 2 Licence

Behaviour Support team.



We are looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Professional to work as part of this brand-new team, working with the children,
young people and staff teams in our service.



We aim to promote, protect and safeguard the physical, emotional and safety needs of children and young people. The Positive
Behaviour Support (PBS) team will act as mentors and trainers to our residential care teams, fostering positive behavioural
support knowledge transfer to practice.



Here at the YMCA, we believe that all children and young people deserve prompt holistic individualised clinical assessment,
intervention and care. Therefore, all the homes adopt a psychologically informed approach to caring for children with trauma lived
experiences within a home environment and the community. Our approach has been designed in collaboration with our Consultant
Forensic Psychologist, therapists, residential care specialists and wider delivery team, to provide a unique step-down and
prevention service from Tier 4 CAMHS; Psychiatric Intense Care Units; secure children’s homes; those awaiting therapeutic
placements post hospital admissions for a mental health assessment or are stepped up from generic children’s homes to prevent
hospital admission.



Job Role



As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work as part of a peripatetic rapid response team to provide additional
support to a staff team and the child when children become dysregulated.



In conjunction with the above, part of your role will include:-

* Supporting with the design, development and delivery of induction training including but not limited to, the areas of
safeguarding; positive behaviour support; risk management; recording and reporting; ligature and TeamTeach
* Encourage continuous professional development in the above training area
* Foster positive behavioural support knowledge transfer to practice

This is a really varied role where no day is ever the same.



You will support the children with everything they might need connected to their personal care through to the home they live in.



From cooking and cleaning in the home, driving the children to school and helping with home work, through to management of
medication and attending health appointment with them – you will be there for them 24/7.

We are looking for Residential Night Care Workers to join our team to provide the highest levels of care 24/7.



You will provide support and care overnight, being a calm and reassuring presence to ensure the young people in our care remain

Remaining awake through-out your shift, you continue the therapeutic style of care, ready to support the young person, especially

The Service:

The Portage team aims to support the development and learning of pre-school children with developmental delay or SEND (special educational needs or disability). The team deliver Portage and Portage Plus (Portage Plus focuses on social communication difficulties) programmes at home and in early years settings, working closely with parents, carers and early years staff as well as directly with children.

Your New Role:

You will deliver a specialist, individually tailored package of assessment, monitoring and early intervention using the Portage model for pre-school children 0-4 years with SEND and their families. You will manage a caseload of children and their families, and carry out a developmental assessment of the child. You will provide resources, materials and equipment to deliver individualised educational activities to stimulate and develop skills. You will also maintain electronic records, contribute to regular multi-agency meetings, support parents at their early stages of an emotional journey, and act as advocate in presenting their view of their child’s needs.

What you'll need to succeed:

You need a Level 3 Early Years or other relevant qualifications with an underpinning knowledge of child development, experience of working directly with pre-school children who have special/additional needs or developmental delay, experience or awareness of working in partnership with families and early years settings, and evidence of completion of the Portage Workshop or willingness to undertake this training. You use your professional skills, knowledge, and experience of child development to assess, set targets, and review and promote development. You work collaboratively, in partnership with parents/carers and others, and understand the diversity of children's needs.

You must have a driving licence and access to a car, or be able to access public transport or other means to reach locations across the whole city for home and nursery visits, transporting or carrying resources. You also need basic IT skills including Microsoft Word. You can work in potentially difficult physical situations, and carry bags with heavy or awkward resources.

The duties
