Job Description
The TFS Program Coordinator I - Logistics will assist the Assistant Chief - IMT Coordinator with the management of the IMT Program, providing training and response oversight for state logistic during wildfire and all-hazard incidents. Assist in the professional development of the IMT Program and agency personnel. Promote cooperative interaction with fire department, communities, other agencies and cooperators on fire and all-hazard incident management related issues to promote local capacity building and increase response capabilities at the local and statewide level.
Responsibilities:
-Serve as member of the Lone Star State Incident Management Team. Assist the Program Coordinator - Logistics in the management of the program, participating and delivering agency programs as assigned. Assist with and manage special projects, which may include budgeting, plan development, meetings, committee participation and other functions.
-Assist with coordinating the professional development of personnel within the agency and IMT Programs and delivery trainings and assist them with obtaining required qualifications. Ensure readiness and operational safety of all Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) emergency response resources.
-Assist with coordination of response to wildland fire incidents as well as other all-hazard incidents and events within the state. Serve on the agency incident management teams as an emergency responder. Emergency response may require extended travel of 14+ days away from the home unit and may include working long hours with minimal rest and in primitive conditions in addition to exposure to harsh environmental conditions: smoke, wind, sunlight, rain, temperature extremes. Walking longs distances, standing for extended periods, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling, lifting and carrying heavy objects. Driving motor vehicles for long distances. Operating heavy equipment with related exposure to equipment vibration and noise. Operating computers with monitors for extended periods of time. Emergency response may result in exposure to emotionally stressful situations for extended periods of time.
-Promote interaction with fire departments, emergency management community, other state and federal agencies and other partners and cooperators on incident management and fire-related issues. Duties may include ensuring individual or regional support of efforts such as assisting with local capacity building programs and other initiatives that increase response capabilities at the local, regional and statewide level. Working with or guiding agency personnel providing logistical support. Supporting additional programs and projects including training academies and other intra and inter-departmental activities.
-Be familiar with issues at the state, area and regional levels that impact emergency response. Assist with delivery of all agency programs related to emergency response.
-Manage and account for assigned agency credit cards, agency vehicle log books, activity time reports and any assigned agency-owned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, rules, policies, procedures and guidelines.
-Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Fire Administration, Public Administration, Communication or related field of study.
Required Experience: Experience in wildland fire or all-hazards response
Preferred Experience: Experience on Incident Management teams. Experience with program development and implementation, teaching and advanced leadership.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills: Sound judgement. Great attention to detail.
Required Abilities: Ability to develop and maintain relationships with various cooperators, stakeholders and the general public. Work within NIMS/ICS environment at wildfires and all-hazard incidents. Ability to travel, attend and provide required training programs, meetings and other functions statewide. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Required: Valid Texas Driver's license or ability to obtain one.
Preferred: Class A Commercial Driver's license (CDL). NWCG qualifications as Logistics Section Chief or other Command & General Staff position. Instructor certifications through TEEX, TCFP and/or SFFMA.
Other Requirements:
-Emergency response to fire and all-hazard incidents is an essential duty as is delivering the agency's mission statewide.
