About the Opportunity
The Admissions Communications Team is a hybrid marketing and communications team which blends traditional and digital marketing efforts with a focus on communication strategy. The team is made up of experts in skill areas such as: marketing, communications, analytics, and strategy. We are an agile and flexible team that aims to enable better storytelling by stronger reporting and strategic analysis of our marketing and communications efforts.
Reporting to the Director of Admissions Communications, the Associate Director is responsible for working across traditional and digital marketing and communication channels, with an emphasis on traditional marketing efforts such as events, print collateral, and direct mail.
The Associate Director’s portfolio will include, but not be limited, to the following:
- Strategically leading the marketing and communications event strategy for on and off campus undergraduate admissions events for the Boston, Oakland, and London campuses.
- Leading the print and postage strategy and managing direct mail campaigns aimed at generating awareness and enrollment into the undergraduate programs on all three UG campuses.
- Strategic lead on print collateral efforts for prospective, admitted, and enrolling audiences.
- Campaign manager for Northeastern’s Global Engagement Office such as the N.U.in Program, Global Scholars, and London Scholars.
The Associate Director is responsible for creating, deploying, tracking, and measuring their campaigns in support of enrollment management strategy and across multiples colleges within Northeastern University. Strategies must drive and support annual enrollment goals, increase awareness, and contribute to the overall success of Northeastern University. Close collaboration with internal teammates, colleagues around the university, and external vendors will be a key facet of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a marketing related field, with 6-8 years of experience in communications and/or marketing.
- Experience in higher education is a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills are required.
- Candidate should possess excellent writing and communications skills, strong knowledge of English grammar, and an ability to work collaboratively while supporting multiple projects.
- The candidate must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle projectsfrom start to finish and strong leadership skills to support the unit’s interests and goals as assigned.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations is critical.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
We are searching for a flexible, creative thinker who is open to new ideas and changing priorities within a fast-paced organization. An ideal candidate will have the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, possess strong communication skill, and the ability to think and act both analytically and strategically.
Experience working within marketing/communications technology such as a marketing automation tool (MAP) and customer relationship management system (CRM) is a plus. Experience in Slate is a plus. Experience in content management systems (CMS) is preferred.
