IBL have developed unique, patented technology for the sustainable recovery of battery grade lithium carbonate from micaceous granite, with the goal of building the world’s first integrated lithium mine, beneficiation plant and refinery producing 20,000tpa of lithium carbonate – enough to support production in the UK of 350,000 electric vehicles per year.

Imerys British Lithium operates a state-of-the-art pilot plant, built to develop our unique LiMica-Sep™ and Li-Sep™ technologies for the sustainable extraction of lithium from micaceous granite. Capabilities at the facility involve a wide range of process technologies, such as mineral beneficiation, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, precipitation, crystallisation, and ion exchange, at both the laboratory and industrial scales.

The competitive landscape is highly dynamic and so speed is essential for us to enter the market. This role is instrumental in the delivery of the plan to develop a full-scale integrated open-pit mine, concentrator and refinery to produce battery-grade lithium for the growing electric vehicle industry in the UK and Europe. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with outside contractors on more complex repairs. You will be required to carry out works on your own with little or no supervision. Works will be carried out safely, with health and safety at the forefront when carrying out tasks.

Hours are 40 hours per week, starting and finishing at the Company's offices, you will be required to manage your workload throughout the day aiming to achieve all tasks set in good time. Your line manager will liaise with you and other members of the Company to set daily task targets and broader work planning.

Requirements:

You must hold the following as a minimum:

• Full clean driving licence
• Good Health and Safety awareness
• Previous xperience of similar work
• You must have all round general maintenance skills, including general repairs, painting, and basic carpentry.
• Candidates must have a can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate initiative.
• A successful candidate would be asked to apply for a DBS (paid for by the company)

It would be desirable to have a trade or skill to bring to the post.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities and manufacturing equipment are properly serviced, maintained, and repaired as needed to support our site's machinery production

*Diagnose and repair all on-site plant / equipment, including hand tools, MIG welders, overhead cranes, plasma cutting machines, hydraulic presses, robot welders, CNC lathes / machining centres, etc.

*Install power cables and distribution boards for new equipment installations.

*Perform routine servicing and maintenance work and respond to breakdown requests from Production.

*Diagnose breakdowns of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

*Source parts for the servicing and repair of equipment and install new parts and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.

*Assist in the installation of new factory plant / equipment.

*Handle emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.

*Conduct periodic testing of emergency systems, such as fire alarms and emergency lighting.

*Coordinate with outside contractors during legislative inspections, such as LOLER.

What the school offers its staff



We are seeking the right person to join our Estates team and support the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds at Saltash Community School. The role also involves supporting the general maintenance and care of the site and buildings as part of a school site team. Primarily based at Saltash, the position does allow for support of our other Trust schools as required. A good standard of practical knowledge, skills and experience of grounds and building maintenance is required. However support with training and development is offered as part of our commitment to our staff.

You will be working alongside the school site team, or alone according to the work required. The ability to plan work alongside the Estates Manager, as well as self-manage and oversee planned or urgent works to completion are necessary. Further, a committed and positive approach to work and team building is essential.
