Serco have an exciting opportunity for an Information Support Coordinator (M365 Power Apps) to join the team at the Defence Academy based in Shrivenham. Sitting within a beautiful and secure site, the Defence Academy hosts 2 lakes and is surrounded by acres of scenic woodland. The Academy trains the future commanders and staff officers of all three UK Armed Services and those from many countries around the world.
The Information Support Coordinator (M365 Power Apps) role is a position within the Defence Academy Information Management structure. Working within the 'iHub' (information hub) as part of a friendly, motivated, energetic, and supportive team the role is to support business areas in the design, development and documentation of simple M365 Power Apps using tools such as Power Automate and Power BI and assist the Business Analysis team in developing improvements to business process using the suite of Microsoft 365 tools. As a member of the iHub, the role will also undertake information management and information assurance duties, bringing together a unique blend of customer service, information administration, user support and software exploitation.
The post holder will also be expected to perform secondary duties as a member of the iHub, providing additional team cover and support as and when required. Such duties may include ordering of services and equipment through MOD approved supplier catalogues, offering routine user advice on the use of M365, ways of working, development of departmental work instructions, training and guidance, and management and support of assets.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Design, develop and document improvements to business processes using Power Apps suite of tools within M365.
- Support the Business Analysis team in identifying and understanding opportunities for workflow automation.
- Provide training to end-users on how to operate delivered apps.
- Design and build of custom SharePoint content/presentation solutions such as page layouts, templates, and styling, complying with accessibility standards.
- Assist line managers or other departmental staff to undertake all required tasks, focussing on delivering service excellence and delivering against team objectives.
- Take a pro-active role within the team to liaise with customers and be fully conversant with workload.
- Handle telephone calls, emails, self-service, and customers visits to the iHub.
- Ensure all incidents and requests are correctly recorded and managed via the appropriate tool and in accordance with policies and processes.
- Information management and administration, and all other iHub activities ensuring protocols, policies and standardisation adhered to.
- Provide cover in times of absence of colleagues.
- Ensure departmental Work Instruction and customer help guides are created, reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
What you'll need to do the role:
- Qualifications and/or relevant experience or skills in development, scripting, markup, etc…
- Prior experience in developing M365 Power Apps is desirable.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Methodical and logical in approach, innovative thinker, problem solving skills.
- Strong IT literacy, and prior experience using Microsoft Office 365 including Teams and SharePoint.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to proactively manage workload and cope under pressure, with conflicting demands of customer and colleagues.
- Must be able to achieve SC clearance prior to appointment, Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
