Senior Mixed Tax Manager (Accountancy Practice)

The Client:
Our client is a well-established accountancy practice, committed to providing excellent financial services to a diverse range of clients.
The Role:
As aMixed Tax Manager, you will review tax calculations prepared by the audit and accounts team before submission to HMRC.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex corporation tax filings.
- Manage HMRC inquiries into client affairs.
- Handle HMRC corporate tax compliance checks, including drafting responses to inquiries.
- Track tax return progress to ensure timely completion and submission.
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings.
- Advise clients on eligibility for research and development tax credits and prepare related reports.
- Assist with special projects such as restructuring, share schemes, and technical memoranda.
- Obtain client approval and ensure timely submission of calculations and returns.
- Supervise corporate tax workflow, including meeting deadlines, budgeting, and billing.
- Undertake a wide range of tax advisory assignments, including restructuring, R&D tax, share schemes, and international tax matters.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning.
- Support and guide junior staff members within the tax team.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as a Tax Manager or in a similar role.
- Possess experience in mixed tax compliance services in a medium-size practice.
- Experience in managing client compliance cycles and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Familiarity with financial management for clients, adapting compliance strategies within budget constraints.
- Background in identifying business growth opportunities for tax clients and across diverse service areas.
- Have strong academic background.
- CTA or AAT fully qualified.
- Skilled in QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho, and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
