Training and Qualification information

Our Trainee Mental Health Practitioner positions training starts in January 2025. This is split with 2.5 days a week for academic work (teaching and personal study), and 2.5 days based at the service seeing clients related to training assignments.

You will attend UCL (London's Global University) and work towards a UCL Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Practitioner.

Whilst on assignment you will work within a multidisciplinary team, being responsible for supporting development and embedding services in educational settings.

You will either need a minimum second-class bachelor's degree (or equivalent in a relevant subject), OR if you do not hold the academic criteria but you have relevant professional experience, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: you will be trained in how to adapt interventions, but you will need a good level of experience in offering CBT informed assessments and interventions as this is not taught.

You need to be ready to start with us in January as the course begins on 20 January 2024.

Health and Wellbeing Physiologist

Brighton Hospital | Physiology | Permanent | Full Time

Up to £24,000 per annum depending on experience

In this entry role to our Physiology department, you'll make a difference, not just a living. We're transforming healthcare in the UK by bringing together assessment, treatment and prevention services to provide integrated care. It starts with you.

As a Health and Wellbeing Physiologist at our Brighton Hospital, you'll bring a minimum 2:2 Sport and Exercise Science degree or equivalent. You've studied human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, anatomy/biomechanics, psychology and nutrition. Crucially, you know how to apply this in practice.

As a Health and Wellbeing Physiologist, you will:

• Join our multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals.

• Complete our in-house three-week training course, as part of your Level 7 Professional Diploma (MSc equivalent).

• Help promote health and fitness as part of our holistic, comprehensive health service.

• Deliver health assessments that support health and wellbeing goals.

• Support prevention as well as rehabilitation and recovery.

• Be passionate and caring in the service you provide, putting client's needs first.

At Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, we work with leading medical Consultants to provide first-class treatments and high standards of care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of medical and surgical conditions using the latest facilities and technology. We take pride in delivering high standards of patient care to both private patients and the NHS. Our facilities include 44 purpose built en-suite rooms, three operating theatres and an endoscopy theatre. Other facilities include physiotherapy, health screening, diagnostics and a dental suite. We are located in Woodingdean, on the east side of Brighton with easy access by rail and road, including free parking.
