Academic/Teaching/Research

• May be asked to prepare and teach seminars/workshops for VATVCBHCS trainees/staff on topics within interest/competency areas
• May choose to conduct approved psychological research that supports the mission of VATVCBHCS alone in collaboration with other professional in VATVCBHCS or affiliated academic institutions.

• Patient Care Coordination:

  • Facilitate seamless healthcare transitions from Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) to VA facilities.
  • Provide consultation on complex discharge planning and care coordination.

This position will serve as a Senior Police Officer at the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend VA Medical Center in McAllen, Texas (McAllen VA Clinic). • Responsible for coordinating/managing a multidisciplinary committee DBC, which may include Police, Patient Advocates, Patient Safety Personnel, Physicians, Pharmacists, etc.
