Due to planned growth, they are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis a Contracts Manager with a solid background in Marine Civil Engineering Projects.

They have recently been awarded two projects on the Thames totalling £11m that start next year with additional opportunities on the Thames, Erith (circa £30m), Folkestone, Sussex (various locations), and Faversham.

The ideal candidate would need to be familiar with coastal & maritime projects, piling, sea defence.

They company operate throughout the UK and specialise in the following sectors;

The ideal candidate would reside between Crawley, South London and Maidstone in order to be able to navigate the region which broadly covers contracts from London into the counties of Surrey, East & West Sussex and Kent.

Duties:

Management of the Project/Site Manager, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

Production of monthly reports Liaise with the Senior QS (Quantity Surveyor), Site QS.

Ensure production, review, and monitor the delivery of the project/site health, safety, environment & quality plans.

Develop effective relationships with the clients to maximise the perception & reputation of the business and secure profitable work.

Taking responsibility for a contract at handover from the estimator Plan & monitor resource requirements.

Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice.

Being the first point of reference for leadership site issues

Civil Engineering experience required:

Strong knowledge of Marine Civil Engineering projects

HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation knowledge

• Preparing and maintaining operational reports, sending these out to clients to meet deadlines

• Checking all portals throughout the day, ensure jobs are not missed and keeping to SLAs

• Updating Engineers appointment calendar – liaise any discrepancies to HR

• Handling all engineers’ timesheets, first line before payroll. Ensuring they are processed within deadlines and have correct information

• Dealing with enquiries

• Letter formatting to prompt urgency or works in need of scheduling

• Communicating effectively with management and colleagues to aid smooth running between office and engineers

• Meeting KPIs

• Following GDPR Guidelines and protecting personal data

• Answering inbound and outbound calls and dealing with enquiries


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in a similar role and within a similar industry such as Engineering / Maintenance / Facilities / Construction etc., where you are liaising with Engineers / Trades People and scheduling their daily jobs

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

• Confidence with working in a team or alone

You will lead a team of electrical engineers supporting the design, integration, test, and evaluation of RF systems with a focus on signal exploitation, communications devices, and radio systems. Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and professional development support to team of engineers
• Manage hardware design and release schedules across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones, risks, and issues are tracked and actioned
• Ensure engineering projects are properly resourced with the right staff and equipment

• Time served as an apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering essential.
• Understanding of Quality Management, customer satisfaction and the continuous improvement process are desirable.
• Duel or multi-skilled with the core skills, preferably electrical.
