Current genetic engineering technologies using Agrobacterium, viruses and nanoparticles through syringe injection and biolistic bombardment suffer from limitations including narrow ranges of host species, low transformation efficiencies, strict restrictions on cargo types and sizes, tissue damage and unwanted transgene integration into plant genome. He/she will also conduct research in some of the abovementioned topics and write research proposals to secure grants for CFI.

Job Requirements

• Possess a recognised PhD degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
• R&D experience in coastal/offshore/structural engineering and/or AI and machine learning.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team .
• Open to fixed-term contract.
