Within DBS, the Digital, Information & Technology (DIT) team is responsible for management, support and delivery of the DBS information technology systems and the provision of accurate and timely management information to our customers.
This role is within the Civilian Personnel Change Delivery Services (CDS) Team supporting the delivery of Management Information (MI) to a range of customers across Defence.
As a report developer within the Civilian Personnel MI team, you will be responsible for the design, development and deployment of reporting solutions that leverage our corporate data warehouse and HR systems. The work you do will support leaders in defence with their decision making, helping to transform and improve defence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Understanding and interpreting customer requirements or defects to develop appropriate solutions.
Development and maintenance of reports using IBM Cognos Analytics, Oracle OTBI and BI Publisher.
Development and maintenance of interactive dashboards by applying data visualisation best practices.
Define and follow Cognos, OTBI and BI Publisher development best practices.
Engagement with stakeholders at all levels to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
Provide subject matter expertise in Cognos Analytics, OTBI and BI Publisher
Management of report schedules and distribution.
Coordination with Software Testers and Release Management to integrate the final work product into the production environment.
Support the delivery of ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
