To drive excellence in Project and Programme Planning through the development, delivery and maintenance of a governance framework for Planning and Schedule management together with Planning and Scheduling management tools and systems and the enhancement of in-house capability; to enable the timely, safe, efficient and customer focused delivery of the Programme.

What you'll be leading on

• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative, working relationships with Programme Senior Leadership Team, Programme Management Office (PMO) management team, and Programme delivery teams; to ensure a strong understanding of business needs, to ensure that the requirements for high quality Planning management tools and systems are fully understood and addressed at both Project and Programme level, to identify key areas for improvement, to share best practices and to resolve complex issues.
• Work with the Programme Management Office, Programme & Project teams and wider Major Projects directorate to develop and deliver the Planning and Scheduling management strategy, consistent with corporate standards and incorporating industry best practices; that ensures control and delivers effective processes, mechanisms and tools.
• Lead the development of Enterprise Planning management tools and systems at a Project, Programme and Portfolio level, to drive measurable results in terms of increasing the efficiency of the Programme and its constituent projects and enable the provision of Management Information (MI)
• To develop processes and procedures that ensure all project schedules provided by designers, delivery partners / contractors and any 3rd party suppliers are provided to a consistently high quality into a centralised location, such that data can be interrogated consistently programme and project-wide and meet Contractual Requirements both internally and externally (NEC3/4).
• Support Directors, Project Managers/Sponsors and their teams through the provision of programme and project analysis, identifying and reporting emerging issues and trends in performance and behaviours related to Planning & Schedule management; to enable the identification of best practices and opportunities for improvement.

To be successful you'll need

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience, with professional accreditations in Planning & Scheduling, Project & Programme Management.
• Extensive operational knowledge and understanding of Project and Programme Management methodologies, tools and techniques (Oracle Primavera P6, MSP, Deltek Acumen Suite of Tools).
• Extensive operational knowledge and understanding of various forms of contract, specifically NEC and the various treatment of Programme time impact, risk & change as a consequence of Change Events (Compensation Events).

We have some exciting opportunities for 2 x Electrical Project Supervisors, specialising in Electrical engineering projects on hazardous area installations across the UK. You will be home start. The client owns and operates the National Transmission system (NTS). This consists of 7600km of large diameter high pressure natural gas pipelines, gas terminals, compressor stations and above ground installations (AGI’s).

The primary role is to deliver capital projects to Time, Cost, and Quality within project governance requirements to ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental issues are managed throughout the project.

This role will have end to end accountability for the definition, development, delivery, and closure of investment projects for Gas Transmission, ensuring that delivery of projects which meet all safety, environmental, functional performance, financial performance, and regulatory requirements.

The daily duties will be as follows:

• Provide first line assurance, supervision, and leadership on site.
• General overseeing and management of Health & Safety, as well as sub-contractors.
• Collate and review Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Construction pack.
• Lead and/or Participate in Task Briefings, Inductions and Toolbox Talks as required.
• Ensure sensible monitoring is implemented.
• Drive a team culture of safe working and safety compliance associated with all activities.
• Management of programme and Progress Reporting to Project Manager.
• Liaise with all members of project team (including contractors) to complete works in line with programme.
• Manage and maintain daily allocation sheets for contractors.
• Managing own workload and productivity on site.
• Solve issues that arise on site.
• Undertake incident investigations and safety/technical inspections on site.
• Undertake regular on-site audits to evaluate and assess safety and environmental protection measures implemented throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
• Inspect quality of installation, testing and commissioning and identify defects that need rectification before completion.
• Undertake quality assessment of electrical and instrumentation test records.
• Collate and verify the Operational and Maintenance Manual of newly installed assets.
• Collate and verify Explosion Protection Document pack (EPD).
• Review and sign off red-line drawings and operational drawings to ensure accuracy of records of newly installed assets.
• Review and verify Cyber Register and Asset Records.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Test and challenge Design, Installation, Test and Maintenance requirements as appropriate and highlight areas for improvement to ensure implementation of robust solution.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Essential (at appointment): Educated to at least HNC level or equivalent, EUSR trained or possess equivalent passport.
• Contract/Project Management experience
• Experience in Electrical installations both industrial and commercial
• Understanding of power distribution systems / standby power systems including diesel generators, Ex rated equipment, lighting motors etc.
• Experience and understanding of Potentially Explosive Atmospheres and COMPEX.
• Detailed understanding of the Safe Control of Operations procedures (SCO/91 & SCO/94) and has undertaken role of Competent Person.
• Detailed understanding of EL/96 for all work types.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
• Experience of successful project delivery and project team working.
• Experience of Project Management and Risk management skills for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
• Experience of different contract management types, including NEC Option A, C and E.

• Support development and/or review of electrical designs for temporary electrical supplies.
• Liaise with all members of the project team (including contractors) to complete works in line with the programme.
• Attend factory visits and support the review of associated quality documentation.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Degree qualified to Bachelor's or Master's level, or HNC level with demonstratable additional industry experience
• Experience with Construction Project Design management and design approval processes.
• Experience of Electrical systems and installations both industrial and commercial, particularly design, installation, inspection and testing, and commissioning activities.
• Experience with the following electrical equipment, including the electrical system design requirements of, and the relevant British and International Standards applicable:
