About the Role:
- Responsible to oversee and manage relationships with technology vendors and ensure their effective contribution to the bank’s digital and technology operations and strategic objectives.
- The role includes monitoring vendor performance, tracking service levels, and resolving issues or conflicts that may arise.
- There are also needs to collaborate with internal teams to conduct vendor assessments, evaluate risks, and implement strategies for vendor optimization and cost reduction.
What You'll Do:
- Assess and manage vendor-related risks, including vendor performance risks, contractual risks, cybersecurity risks, and regulatory compliance risks. Establish risk management processes and mitigation strategies. Monitor vendor compliance with relevant regulations, data privacy, and security standards. Conduct vendor audits and assessments as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with technology vendors. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution. Foster strong vendor partnerships based on open communication, mutual trust, and alignment of objectives.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation with technology vendors. Encourage continuous improvement and value-add initiatives from vendors. Work closely with vendors to explore emerging technologies, market trends, and best practices. Facilitate vendor presentations, demonstrations, and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Track and manage technology vendor-related budgets, expenses, and invoices. Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance. Conduct cost optimization analyses and negotiate pricing with vendors to achieve cost savings and efficiencies.
- Maintain inventory of technology vendors, contracts, and key vendor-related information. Regularly assess the vendor portfolio and vendor consolidation opportunities. Identify opportunities for strategic vendor partnerships, vendor rationalization, and vendor performance enhancement.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the vendor management function. Develop and implement standardized vendor management processes, templates, and tools. Drive initiatives to streamline vendor onboarding, vendor performance tracking, and vendor relationship management.
What We're Seeking:
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with technology vendors is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, vendor selection, and negotiation strategies is necessary. Familiar with sourcing strategies, request for proposals (RFP) processes, supplier evaluation, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of vendor management principles, best practices, and methodologies is necessary. Familiar with vendor selection processes, contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and relationship management. Significant experience in conducting vendor assessments, evaluating vendor capabilities, and assessing vendor risks
- Solid understanding of technology products, services, and industry trends. Familiar with a wide range of technology solutions, such as software licenses, hardware procurement, cloud services, and professional services engagements. Stay updated with emerging technologies and their potential impact on procurement strategies.
- Proficiency in conducting supplier evaluations, analyzing supplier capabilities, and assessing supplier risks is important. IT Vendor Management Leads should have experience in evaluating proposals, conducting due diligence, and selecting vendors that align with the organization's needs and strategic objectives. They should possess strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms and pricing.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills are vital for this role. Able to build and maintain positive relationships with technology vendors, establish effective communication channels, and resolve issues or conflicts in a collaborative manner. Competent in managing stakeholder expectations and influencing decision-making related to vendor management.
- Proficiency in data analysis, financial analysis, and cost management is necessary. Able to analyze vendor performance metrics, evaluate total cost of ownership, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and value generation.
- Possess strong financial acumen to manage vendor contracts within budgetary constraints.
