You will serve as an International Military Student Officer and be responsible for conducting essential management, supervision, and academic record administration for approximately 275 International Military Students (IMS) that annually attend an USCG resident training course.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Conducting internation military student management and administration in accordance with USCG, DoD, and DoS references using DoD online databases and Microsoft Suite programs.
- Partnering with customers and stakeholders on the planning and executing of international resident training.
- Serving as the USCG's Security Assistance Network (SANweb) system administrator validating IMS arrival, course enrollment, vetting, language proficiency, and reviewing IMS Invitational Travel Orders (ITOs) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Developing cost documentation that incorporates direct and indirect costs associated with international military students attending USCG resident courses.
- Managing the USCG's Field Studies Program (FSP) to enhance the understanding of international military students on the responsibilities of government, militaries, and citizens to protect, preserve, and respect the rights of every individual.
