The Trade Marketing Manager is a vital member of our Trade Marketing team within the wider Commercial Own Brand group, responsible for implementing the TM strategy and securing supplier investment that drives performance across our retail, coffee shops and pubs and bars. You will keep abreast of market dynamics, understand consumer behaviour and build close working relationships with our key supplier partners, as well as possessing the hunger and drive to seek out and negotiate new investment.

Main Duties
Collaborate with the teams of each sales channel to develop Trade Marketing (TM) strategies that align with business objectives

- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners, working with them to showcase SSP network, understand Brand Plans, create shared objectives and develop marketing initiatives
- Create Activation Plans, co-ordinate the creation of marketing POS materials and allocations and create unit SharePoint posts for own Supplier campaigns
- Analyse sales data, market trends and keep up to date on competitor activities
- Work closely with each business channel team to implement the Annual Trade Marketing Plan
- Work closely with Purchasing to align on supplier negotiation
- Work closely with Finance to ensure all activity is invoiced in a timely manner
- Track and forecast annual TM income for Suppliers within remit
- Input into annual TM budget development proposal
- Support organisation of annual Supplier Conference to share SSP trading strategy, relationship build and grow TM investment into SSP from our suppliers
- Support and stand-in for Senior Trade Marketing Manager

Knowledge, skills and experience required

- Proven experience in a similar Trade Marketing role including strategy and budget development
- Advanced supplier relationship building and development skills
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Strong all round business acumen and understanding of sales drivers
- Ability to spot opportunities and turn them into profitable activities
- Ability to project manage multiple workstreams and priorities to ensure delivery of the strategy
- Ability to drive decision-making through fact based analysis
- Experience of drawing out business insights from analysis and presenting findings and recommendations persuasive
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally
- Good understanding of the operational reality in units e.g. environment, service, labour, waste, equipment, space and layout, ease of execution

About the Role


Junior NPD Chef
- Camden, London
As a junior NPD Chef, your responsibilities include assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team. You execute tasks according to recipes and standards, ensuring a smooth kitchen operation while learning and honing culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.

You will:

- Ensure the Jamestown kitchen is kept clean and well-maintained
- Receive and store all items ordered for the kitchen
- Cook and prepare food as per senior NPD chef’s instructions

Regional Operations & Mobilisation Executive Chef

Main Purpose of Job
To offer first-class service across multiple locations through leading the mobilisation of new units,
unit auditing, food safety programmes, and leading hands-on training and development for new and
established chefs across all brands
Main Duties

- To manage the mobilisation of new and refurbished units from a BOH perspective and work with local and office-based teams to ensure the smooth delivery of the food offered upon opening
- Support with the kitchen design process for all units
- To provide ongoing support for these units should it be required
- To facilitate the training and development of both new and existing chefs and back-of-house team members
- To complete back-of-house audits for both food safety and health & safety
- To support the implementation and training of new unit teams across multiple locations
- Work alongside NPD to update and develop brand operating manuals
- Responsible for signing off all specification changes to unit menu’s and products
- Offer day-to-day support to the bottom quartile of units
- Attend cross-functional meetings where required
- Work closely with the local OM’s to identify cost-saving or efficiency opportunities





Key Measurable

- New unit back-of-house operations set up and trained by unit opening date
- All kitchen team members trained to the correct standard pre-opening
- Post-opening training and support
- Quality and service visits completed in line with operational requirements.
- Clear brand standards delivered and monitored

Skills/Knowledge Required
Essential:

- A qualified chef with a suitable culinary experience
- Extensive knowledge of kitchen workflows
- Knowledge of the kitchen design process
- Background in high-volume casual dining and/or coffee & bakery operations
- Experience in menu development, costing and producing specs to target margins
- Thorough understanding of food market trends

Pay Rate: £11.60 per hour

Shift pattern: Between 6am and 10pm including weekends
Contract: Full time ONLY
- 30 to 40 hours per week

- Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
- Ensuring daily, weekly & monthly cleaning duties are carried out as organized by the Kitchen Manager.
- Helping with deliveries and preparing meats and vegetables
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff.
