What’s the Role: Team Leader
What It Takes:
An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.
So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.
Where would you work: Greater Manchester Complex Care Supported Living Service, Moston
Praxis Care is opening new supported living services in Greater Manchester. In line with Praxis Vision and Values we are working in partnership with Ideas Alliance, a Manchester based social enterprise, to ensure that we include and involve the people we support, their families and our community partners in all aspects of our service design and delivery.
Our initial Service will be based in the Moston area, but as the service develops, we will deliver services in areas preferred by our Service Users. Our services will provide innovative and bespoke packages of care to some of the most vulnerable people in the area who are experiencing a degree of learning disability and enduring mental health issues. A number will have been in long term institutional placements and will require an extended period of readjustment to community living - this is where our services come in. Each person we engage with will have a tailored care package to support their return to live within local communities in a Supported Living setting, with staff being involved with developing each Service User’s confidence and abilities to live as independently as possible. Praxis Care wants to make a real difference in people’s lives by creating opportunities and collaborating with other agencies to promote the best possible outcomes for everyone we engage with.
As the service grows and expands there will be opportunities for career progression for people with the right values and skill set with possible Team Leader and assistant Manager roles available and you will be provided with the training and support required to fulfil these. Our office base is just outside Bury town centre and staff will be required to travel there from time to time for training and management meetings etc. but would primarily work from Service User’s homes in the community.
