We have an exciting opportunity for a senior midwife with extensive leadership experience to join The Royal Surrey Women and Children Division, within which the Maternity service has an outstanding rating with the CQC. The successful candidate, as part of the Divisional Triumvirate, will work closely with the Chief Nurse, senior nursing and midwifery colleagues, Clinical Directors and external partners as a visible leader for midwifery and paediatric nursing across the Trust. They are responsible for all matters relating to the national and local agenda for midwifery, gynaecology and paediatric nursing. The post holder will support the Trust on all aspects of professional practice relating to Women's services and provide professional advice directly about maternity related matters and strategic development of services. The role has a considerable external focus working in partnership with other services across the ICS, regional and national teams, Care Quality Commission, the regional chief midwife, the royal colleges and other key stake holders. Responsible to the development, management and provision of the pharmaceutical services to inpatients and day cases of the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Royal Surrey Cancer Centre and other hospitals and clinics, including Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh Hospitals that are provided with a pharmacy service from the Royal Surrey Pharmacy Department. Responsible for the maintenance of the operational areas as to a standard suitable for inspection. Responsible for the effective use and maintenance of the Omnicell Robotic Dispensing System and Omnicell e-CD Dispensing Cabinet, in order to improve efficiency within operational services. Responsible for the line management of the three Lead Technicians within operational services and supervision of all other staff allocated to operational services. Responsible for all operational policies and procedures relating to pharmaceutical services or care which will have a Trust wide impact. Responsible for the quality of advice to patients and staff on all services provided. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, work collaboratively with the Chief Pharmacist contributing to the strategic development of Pharmacy services across and outside the Trust. Be responsible for the provision of late night rotas for all staff, and weekend rotas for all the technical staff alongside the Deputy Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Operations and the Deputy Chief Pharmacist for Oncology Services. Be responsible for the collection and provision of all key performance indicators and provide monthly data for the Trust. Be responsible for all Health and Safety risk assessments and annual Health and Safety inspections for all operational areas. Responsible for the final accuracy checking of dispensed products. Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive dispensing service to the Trust and external customers. This service includes the provision of services to meet the specialised and complex medication needs of patients including unlicensed and investigational products, Be responsible for the appropriate storage of pharmaceuticals, including controlled drugs. Responsible for the line management of technical staff, and supervision of other staff allocated to operational areas. Responsible for the delivery of a dispensing and distribution service to 527 inpatient beds at the RSCH, outpatient clinics and day cases, including Childrens Unit and Royal Surrey Cancer Centre, external hospitals including Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh hospitals.

From October 2024, the current NIHR Clinical Research Network will be changing to become the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN). The RDN will continue to support the effective and efficient initiation and delivery of funded research across the health and care system in England for the benefit of patients, the health and care system and the economy, with a name that better reflects the scope and purpose of the network to support. The Head of HR Business Partnering is responsible for leading the HR Business Partner function to develop effective and robust workforce plans, as well as ensuring that robust, fair and transparent employee relations processes are in place. Specific responsibilities include: To be responsible for developing policies and procedures and advising the Deputy Director of HR on changes and the implementation process. Provides HR input to all of the organisations policies and strategies To provide advice on specialist HR issues across all aspects of workforce performance, development, change programmes and employee relations To provide guidance and support to assist in the achievement of the operational and strategic objectives through the effective deployment of resources and by initiating strategic and operational procedures to accommodate these requirements Working with staff side colleagues, be responsible for updating, developing and creating workforce policies and procedures for managers and staff employed within the Trust. To ensure that implementation strategies/ training processes are utilised to introduce and embed a consistent approach across the Trust and to implement national policy and best practice Provide strong professional supervision to the HR professionals and senior managers working in the Trust ensuring that consistent, high quality, professional advice is provided in a timely manner to the Business Units and corporate teams Ensure managers across the Trust have access to a full range of HR Policies and Procedures which reflect legislation, local and national policy and are in keeping with the Trusts business objectives To assess, advise and recommend appropriate course of action across specialist HR issues Take a leading role in developing Staff Survey action plans including supporting HRBPs to develop plans at Divisional level To work with the Associate Director of Learning and Development to ensure that there is a robust training provision for all aspects of HR policies and practices To ensure appropriate systems are in place so that the Trust is compliant with CQC, NHSI/E and Department of Health requirements, demonstrating compliance through regular audit and reporting.
