This is a 2-year fixed-term apprenticeship post where you will study towards the Pharmacy Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship with a commissioned educational provider. You will participate in theoretical day-release and practical on the job training. You will undertake duties of a technical nature in all aspects of the pharmaceutical service, under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacy Technician, in order to become a fully qualified Pharmacy Technician, eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician (subject to the GPhC initial entry criteria). This post will be paid under an Annex 21 agreement SALARY Annex 21 of Band 4:Annex 21 covers trainees who enter the NHS and undertake their training whilst an employee. Annex 21 pay is determined as a percentage of the maximum qualified rate.Maximum qualified rate is £28, 976 per annum (at current rates) including High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS)Year 1 salary is 70% of the pay band maximum, which equates to £20, 283 per annumYear 2 salary is 75% of the pay band maximum, which equates to £21, 731 per annum Existing employees applying for an apprenticeship training programme within the same occupation/area will be paid on their current pay structure, where this does not exceed the qualified rate, or Annex 21, whichever is higher.

Royal Surrey Foundation Trust Maternity service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. We provide antenatal care to approximately 2900 women a year and the sonography service is based within our antenatal clinic and dedicated early pregnancy unit on the ground floor of the trust. We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and professional sonographer to join our team. You are an integral part of the maternity care provision within the department and work closely with the Obstetric, midwifery and Gynaecology nursing teams to provide an exceptional level of antenatal care. You will work alongside the Antenatal Screening team and two dedicated fetal medicine consultants to deliver the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme and achieve all Key Performance Indicators within your practice. Support will be given with professional development and there is opportunity to support ongoing improvement in practice and service delivery working collaboratively with the senior team, you would be supported to develop the work as part of the trust Quality Improvement processes. The course begins in September 2024. Since this is a training position, candidates can have an undergraduate (BSc) degree in Radiography, Nursing, or Midwifery.

1. KEY RESULT AREAS/MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.1. Technical The role calls for someone from an electronics/instrumentation engineering background and as such the post holder will require an understanding across a range of technologies and serviced that are covered by the EME team. Engagement with third party vendors to identify suitable spares and materials to support maintenance and repair of medical equipment. The ability to learn about new technologies in a dynamic working environment and to effectively follow policies and procedures. Travel to other sites will be required as part of this role. 3.2 Professional and Qualifications To work towards achievement of registration as a Clinical Technologist on the Register of Clinical Technologist (RCT). The post holder will be expected to ensure that where skills lack and experience need to be developed, either within the team or at a personal level that these will be attained, to further the work of the Department. HNC Electronic Engineering or equivalent and knowledge and experience equivalent Sound knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering, precision electro-mechanical and computer systems. 3.3 General working requirements To implement and ensure compliance with the departments quality policies in the areas of work for which the post holder carries responsibility. To carry out all duties in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of practice and Local Rules. To participate in overtime when required. To adopt flexible work practices in the event of emergencies or equipment failures, according to department and professional guidelines To provide cover for the Equipment library administrator role for up-to 2 mornings per week and during periods when the post-holder is absent. To provide cover for the EME Front of house role for up-to 1 day per week and during periods when the post-holder is absent. The post holder is an experienced nurse, therapist, pharmacist or paramedic qualified to Degree Level. Individual training needs for this role will be met by undertaking an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and a Clinical portfolio in Frailty in order to achieve the level of competence required by the post. The trainees pay will be at Band 7 until completion of all competences deemed necessary for autonomous practice where they will then paid at Band 8a.

The post-holder will train to become part of the team responsible for the efficient and effective provision of the Non-Medical endoscopy service. They will work with the MDT to ensure the development, management and delivery of a high quality general and specialist endoscopy provision. The post holder will perform diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopic procedures, in accordance with defined protocols and following completion of the SEETA training programme. Working with their supervising clinician, the post holder will identify the need for and request, further investigations as appropriate and advise on further investigations as required. The post holder will support all clinicians working within the specialty area and work closely with the existing compliment of Non-Medical Endoscopists and the Service Manager on service strategy and development. The post holder be expected to return a minimum of 3 years service to RSFT as a Non-Medical Endoscopist upon successful completion of training.
