The Opportunity
An incredible opportunity for a Satellite Communications Engineer has become available with the chance of working alongside a leading engineering consultancy who provide through-life technical and engineering support. The need for you as a Satellite Communications Engineer is to lead the upgrade of Radio Frequency and Intermediate Frequency Systems including the specification and delivery of large satellite terminals.

- Have you got up to date knowledge of Radio Frequency and Intermediate Frequency architecture and best design practice?

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- The design of Radio and Intermediate Frequency systems architecture,
- Specification of system elements
- Overseeing the purchase and installation of equipment
- System Test and Commissioning
- Support to the new service design process
- Specifying, purchasing and testing of VSAT terminals, to support the delivery of new services
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering Discipline
- Previous experience with a satellite network operator
- Current knowledge of RF and IF architecture and best design practice
- Experience in the specification and delivery of large (9m) satellite terminals
- Satellite network system design experience
- Must hold or be able to obtain SC Clearance
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience with the MILSATCOM domain but not essential
- Experience in the design of military communication systems
- Knowledge of satellite ranging techniques
- Previous experience in the design of satellite systems
- Able to calculate link budgets for complex SATCOM Systems
- Experience working across complete engineering lifecycle
