Strategic Planning Director
Job description
- Develop integrated communications strategic solutions that address the client’s business challenges/ goals.
- Support the development and selling of creative ideas to meet clients’ targets and objectives, with effective presentation of ideas to internal stakeholders and to clients.
- Build strong relationships with senior clients. Your opinion is valued and respected by them - always included in strategic development/ decision making.
- Guide and develop junior level talent within the strategy team
Roles and Responsibilities
- Keep up to date with advertising, media, digital and social best practices, and industry and branding trends to identify opportunities for clients. Evaluate trends, assess new data and keep up-to-date with the latest marketing techniques.
- Be able to turn information and data into insights that provide powerful springboards for innovative and breakthrough creative thinking.
- Develop full scale strategy for integrated communication campaigns that could include brand strategy, ATL campaigns, digital solutions, social media and content strategy as well as BTL and activation programmes.
- Conceptualize and develop frameworks for complex, multi-channel campaigns across the various phases of the funnel/consumer journey.
- Partner with account management and creative leads to build and manage client relationships.
- Proactively identify new business or creative opportunities for client growth in partnership with business leads.
- Monitor the success of the campaigns as they run, suggesting changes and improvements where necessary.
- Lead strategic thinking for pitches and new business projects.
Skills and requirements
- 6+ years of experience in the integrated marketing communication business in the planning function
- A proven track record of delivering highly effective large scale communication initiatives
- Experienced in holistic campaigns that cuts across ATL, BTL and digital touchpoints. Ability to think beyond traditional solutions for brands.
- Excellent client management skills
- Possess strong presentation skills
- Ask the right questions about everything, fulfilling their insatiable curiosity to learn everything there is to know about a given business, person, culture, trend etc.
- Take the complex (whether it be a data set or terminology-heavy whitepaper), and turn it into something with a simple and compelling narrative.
- Take full ownership and responsibility of their work across multiple projects, effectively managing their workload using clear organisational skills.
- Practice emotional intelligence to build and nurture relationships with our global clients and the wider team, including active listening and pragmatic feedback.
