With Operations across the globe and with an ever expanding customer base, this prestigious manufacturer are planning the next part of their recruitment push in the Maintenance team. Following their recent investment they are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well-established maintenance team, The company has multiple sites within the organisation and offers brilliant stability as well as internal and external training courses on specific manufacturing equipment together with a realistic chance to develop within the team.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Repair, adjust, and maintain equipment (i.e. shear balers, excavator scissors, machine handlers, machine scrap grabs, conveyors, material feeders, shovel loaders) to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications.
- Oversee multiple sites from Cardiff to Bristol and manage maintenance schedules and repairs across these sites.
- Respond to emergencies, break-downs, malfunctions, and other operating problems and diagnose faults to minimise disruptions.
- Implement an established maintenance programme and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be identified and addressed.
- Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair.
- Interrogate and understand maintenance problems and provide plant condition information /recommendations.
- Oversee contractors and ensure work is carried out to the required standards.
- Support with planning and scheduling maintenance activities (for example planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs).
- Fabrication and welding of machine components.
- Support with the development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
- Mechanical Biased Maintenance Experience.
- Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer (or similar role) preferable within heavy industry.
- Knowledge of conveyors, material handling equipment and PLC controlled automated machinery.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
