Your new role
The Finance Manager position is a senior role within a small finance team, and you will oversee the operational activities of the finance function of the organisation. Your responsibilities will include: managing a small finance team, preparing regular management accounts on a timely basis, overseeing the annual budget process and financial planning for the organisation in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, managing and overseeing payroll procedures including Pension Contributions, Tax and National Insurance payments and any other relevant deductions, cash flow forecasting and operational cash management, prepare and ensure accurate quarterly VAT returns, ensuring they are submitted to HMRC on a timely basis, provide guidance and support on all financial matters to ensure that relevant personnel are kept updated on all financial and commercial activities, coordinate and facilitate quarterly Finance and Audit Committee meetings, undertake regular review monitoring of working capital balances, ensuring monies are available to meet financial commitments, whilst ensuring excess cash funds are invested to maximise growth.
Provide regular financial reporting to the Senior Management Team, identify and implement process and systems improvements to deliver more effective working practices and make better use of existing and new technology, ensure that all relevant financial regulations and guidelines are being adhered to. Develop, manage and maintain efficient financial records in order to comply with control and monitoring regulations in line with GDPR, development, review and implementation of financial policies, support the annual audit of the organisation through building and maintaining good relationships with external auditors and delegate responsibilities as appropriate, ensuring all staff are trained to the required standards including mandatory training and development opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant with previous experience in a managerial role
- Payroll, budgeting and forecasting experience
- People management experience
- Ability to convey/communicate important information both orally and in writing
- Uphold ethical and professional standards
- Promote and sustain a responsible attitude towards equal opportunities and diversity
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development and to participate in any training and development relevant to the role
- Ensure good practice and compliance in relation to privacy, confidentiality and GDPR regulatory guidelines as set out by the organisation
What you'll get in return
You will work for an established organisation on a full-time permanent basis. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Benefits include 27 days holidays plus statutory holidays, pension, occupational sick pay, health care scheme, subsidised meals. Relocation package considered whereby it is reasonably necessary for the successful candidate to relocate to take up the post.
