We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Controller to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the store and warehouse, ensuring that all logistics activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Logistics Controller will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and other teams to coordinate resource requests, control inventory, and maintain operational standards.
Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the store is manned with suitably qualified and experienced personnel to meet expected outputs.
- Train, assign, schedule, plan, and discipline the logistics team.
- Coordinate resource requests with other teams.
- Control material, consumables, inventory of special project spares, and associated clean room materials.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with daily management tasks.
- Meet operational standards of performance and implement continuous improvement activities.
- Resolve issues when identified and recommend changes to company policies and procedures when appropriate.
- Maintain the warehouse through the best utilisation of space to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure all shipments comply with Export Controls & Dangerous Goods Controls.
- Experience in operating in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate a good understanding and application of warehouse methods, principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
- Experience in Export control.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of export controls and dangerous goods regulations.
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems and software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
