We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, person-centred administrator to join our team to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of our admin processes.

The role is varied and fast paced with conflicting deadlines, you will need to be able to prioritise conflicting workloads effectively and work calmly under pressure.

It is a rewarding, and often challenging role as you will be the first point of contact and will need to be able to communicate via email/telephone, clearly and transparently with families, Health & Social Care, and educational settings. It is a very rewarding role as you will be part of an office based team whose focus is on enabling children and young people with special educational needs to achieve the best long-term outcomes possible.

The successful candidate will have:-

• Good working knowledge and experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office packages (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Experience of data input and data protection/GDPR
• Experience of working in a fast paced, customer focused environment
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including, colleagues, partnership organisations, children/young people, parents and carers, via telephone or written communication

You will need to be highly literate with at least GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English as this role involves dealing with a wide range of people, you must be able to communicate with a range or stakeholders including families, young people, schools, colleges, health and social care both verbally and in written communication. This is a unique opportunity to join us as a Senior Practitioner in our Help and Protecion teams on either a permanent or fixed term / secodnment basis. You will assume a crucial role in managing and delivering effective and efficient services for children, young people, and their families.

Your responsibilities include providing professional supervision, adhering to Social Work England's code of practice, and contributing to team development. Flexibility and commitment to working outside office hours are essential to meet the diverse needs of families.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing and managing risk in complex and urgent situations.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in working with children, young people, and their families. You should have extensive experience in handling complex cases, including Child Protection, Child in Need, Care Proceedings, and the Public Law Outline.

The ideal candidate will have previously supported children and families when children have been taken into care and will have experience providing guidance and supervision to less experienced colleagues. A relevant Social Work qualification is essential for this role.

We have an exciting 2 year fixed term opportunity within our highways Network Management service for an Assistant Engineer/Senior Technician. In this role you will assist in the delivery of traffic and road safety initiatives including accident investigation, traffic regulation orders and other general measures to improve the safety and efficiency of the highway network.

Working on a number of high profile and innovative projects, you will have an opportunity to work closely with other members of the Traffic Management Team to deliver positive change for the city, building on the good work already undertaken in aiding road safety and enhancing traffic management in Coventry.

Day to day you will be responsible for undertaking site inspections across the city, investigating and responding to enquires from elected members, members of the public and other stakeholders and managing and co-ordinating programmes of work to help residents, businesses and visitors to Coventry travel safely and conveniently across and through the city.

We seek a proactive, enthusiastic individual interested in highways and transport. You should have a practical working knowledge of traffic management and its role in ensuring people and goods can move efficiently and safely around the city.

You will need to be enthusiastic, and diplomatic and have previous experience in working with the public.

To be successful in this role you will also have

We are recruiting for a Senior Practitioner in our Connected Persons Fostering team on an intital 6 month fixed term basis.

The Connected Persons is responsible for the assessment of connected persons foster carers and special guardians, the supervision of connected persons foster carers and the support of special guardians.

Coventry has invested strongly in our Connected Persons fostering team as part of our Family Valued approach of family led decision making. For us, it is clear that if children cannot remain at home they are best placed with people within their family and friends network

As a Senior Practitioner / Deputy Team Manager within the Connected Person team you will be responsble for the supervision of some connected persons foster carers (equivalent of around 50% of full caseload).

You also have responsibility on a rota basis for the oversight of the referrals coming into the team including quality assurance of positive initial assessments. You will participate and lead on aspects of team development for example, the development of our support offer to special guardians.

The Housing and Homelessness Service is a very busy environment  and faces several challenges to meet the housing needs of citizens of Coventry. The team have grown significantly during the last 12 months and this reflects the fact that Housing & Homelessness are now a key council priority.

• Provision of the statutory homeless service

• Provision of temporary accommodation

A new national programme has been launched which seeks to evidence what interventions can be successful to end rough sleeping and reduce homelessness in England. The Centre for Homelessness Impact (CHI) are administering the programme on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG). The aim of the programme is to run a series of trials and rigorous evaluations that will test innovative ways to end rough sleeping and reduce homelessness.

As a local authority we are excited that we have been selected to be part of this amazing opportunity – we are therefore seeking dynamic individuals to help us deliver the project.

Working out of city centre locations this new team will work closely with partners, including Cyrenians, Central England Law Centre and the City Council Migration and Rough Sleeping Teams, providing time limited accommodation and support to non-UK Nationals who are rough sleeping.

The new team will be made up of:

This role, a Senior Outreach Worker role (Grade 6) who will be responsible for overseeing the Test and Learn Project and acting as the link point to identify and manage flow into and out of the project, liaising with their staff team, the project Solicitor, Home Office worker and other relevant local service professionals.

Two Outreach Workers (Grade 5), managed by the Senior Outreach Worker working within the Rough Sleeping and Migration Teams supporting individuals through the process and supporting them to address both immigration and wider challenges.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We are looking for someone who can drive the project and keep it on track:

• Managing people and projects, including the collection of data and research for reports
• Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by people rough sleeping, including adults those with no recourse to public funds or multiple and complex needs
• Excellent communication and ‘people skills’
• Excellent negotiating and advocacy skills
• Creativity and flexibility in your working
• Good administration and time management skills

This management role will oversee the day to day running of the Non-UK Nationals Test & Learn Project and support the Rough Sleeping Manager in ensuring the work remains on track, is delivered effectively and on time.

You will directly line manage one of the Navigators, be the link worker to the project Solicitor and Home Office Worker and be responsible for capturing data and writing reports.

The role may involve working some unsociable hours and relies on the whole team working flexibly as necessary.

There is a large research element to the project and actively capturing achievements and learning is a vital aspect of all roles.

Under the general direction of the Bereavement Services Manager, to be responsible for overseeing, and undertaking, the provision of day-to-day administration of all activities within statutory legislation associated with, the Crematorium and the City Cemeteries, Social Funerals, Memorial Permits requests and safety matters.
