Reporting to Head of Financial Accounting & Reporting, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the overall month end closing for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam markets in APAC. He/she is expected to:
- Be the gate keeper to ensure the overall service delivery (i.e. accuracy and quality) of financial and accounting function in the cluster based on the agreed service level agreements (SLAs) & defined closing mechanism. Perform final review before publishing our financial numbers to local/regional/global and approval of overall end to end process & its quality
- Act as the owner of preparing financial statements & external reporting up to local statutory requirements after final review
- Look after the financial integrity, for market CFOs, of overall finance related processes, governance and meet with Chanel & local statutory requirements
- Provide sufficient training & coaching to all individual financial accounting & reporting managers & accountants in the team with advanced proficiency of financial and operational knowledge including system knowledge to perform daily operation
- Orchestrate strong collaboration between various teams in the finance community to achieve month end closing in good quality and timely manner
- Assist Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting to plan out the right level of resources to meet with future business growth and reporting statutory demand
- Monitor operational performance via KPIs and other automated / self-serviced reports to look for continuous improvement.
- Interpret the defined Key Risk Indicator (KRIs) to provide insight to market CFOs and execute the relevant mitigation plans to address the identified risks
- Monitor updates in accounting standards / legislation on reporting and create awareness among the team
Academic/Professional Qualifications
- University degree
- CPA/CA/ICAA or equivalent
Work Experience
- Minimum 8 years of working experience, inclusive of 4 years of managerial experience
- Big 4 audit experience is an advantage
- Experience working in Shared Service Center is an advantage
- Solid expertise / operational know-how of all finance processes (AP, AR, GL, inventory accounting, etc) and understanding of market specificities
- Fluency in English is a must
