At Brook Street, an exciting opportunity awaits a Financial Crime Analyst to join a dynamic team at one of our prominent automotive clients in Milton Keynes.
The primary focus of the Financial Crime Analyst role is to deliver top-tier fraud prevention services to our retail partners across all brands. This involves handling application fraud referrals through tools like Hunter, Credit Industry Fraud Avoidance System (CIFAS), and various investigative avenues for financial crime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly address and act on internal department queries and information received from authorities like the police or National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS).
- Investigate internal application fraud referrals, covering impersonation, misrepresentation, theft, money laundering, and other financial crimes.
- Develop prosecution packs, compiling witness statements and evidence exhibits.
- Generate Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and Terrorism Act, reporting suspicions to the NCA.
- Maintain meticulous case records, updating internal systems and retaining data requests and provided information.
- Prepare witness statements and evidence exhibits as needed, attending court hearings when necessary.
- Assess and report to the National Crime Agency if warranted.
- File via systems to fortify the company against future application fraud.
- Investigate and prevent fraudulent vehicle finance applications from referrals arising in the Fraud detection system.
- Review CIFAS system referrals.
- Conduct PEP and Sanctions monitoring, customer due diligence, and enhanced monitoring during on-boarding and ongoing, aligning with SLA policy requirements.
- Offer feedback to Underwriting and aid in coaching on identified cases promptly.
- Actively contribute to identifying or evolving financial crime guidance.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to identify trends and risks when needed.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Understanding of financial services regulatory environments, including Money Laundering Regulations, General Data Protection Regulations, and relevant legislation (Theft Act, Fraud Act, Terrorism Act, Proceeds of Crime Act).
- Familiarity with retailer processes.
- Prior experience using SIRA/Hunter is essential.
- Proficiency in CIFAS is required.
- Experience in investigating applications and proactively submitting SARs is a must.
This is a temporary contract starting immediately for a duration of 4 months.
Pay: £17.64 per hour
The role involves a 4-week training period at the Milton Keynes office, five days a week, followed by a hybrid working arrangement.
