Social Work Resource Assistant - Grade 4
Job Purpose:
This post is required to provide support to Social Workers and Managers across Adult Services. This will require working within current legislation and following Council policies, procedures and practice.
On a day-to-day basis, this will involve:
• Communicating with service users or their representatives
• Liaising with Social Workers, Team Managers, OT’s, Brokerage and care providers
• Updating and maintaining client database
• Monitoring and managing outlook mailbox
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specific Requirements
1. To contact service users or their representatives to notify them of new care packages starting
2. To contact service users or their representatives to complete 4 weekly phone reviews following changes to care packages.
3. To complete relevant forms and tasks on the Carefirst database and make recommendations to allocated Social Worker following completion of reviews.
4. To assist with the incoming calls from service users or their representatives as part of the duty process – signposting and/or passing on relevant information to social workers.
5. To support teams and managers with updating, maintaining social work pending /allocation lists and provide statistical information as required
6. To process requests for funding of care packages and case transfers following review
7. To maintain and manage Adult Services outlook mailboxes as required
8. To maintain and monitor Business Support Team Carefirst desktop
9. To support with collating, redacting and providing copy records or information for court cases, FOI and SAR requests
10. To provide administrative support to Team Managers and senior Social Workers to arrange meetings / provide minutes
11. To assist in formatting and the quality assurance of key documents
12. To provide cover and support to Business Support colleagues as required with day-to-day tasks e.g., SAP orders, paying invoices, ICT requests, Purchasing card transactions

5 In line with the Council’s Hybrid working model, the role will be a combination of working and working in the office.
Education
& Training:
4 GCSE’s including English language or equivalent
Experience
Experience of dealing with the public
Experience of Microsoft Office including excel and outlook
Experience of working to Legislative / Corporate procedures, processes and guidelines
Experience of convening meetings and minute taking
Experience of using CareFirst database
Skills and
Abilities:
Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate records
Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to deal with issues of a confidential / sensitive nature
Ability to use initiative and be able to organise and prioritise workloads
Oversee phone calls with the ability to obtain relevant information in order to interpret, signpost and prioritise situations
Ability to maintain databases and create and update Excel spreadsheets
Ability to produce and analyse Carefirst reports
Ability to identify opportunities to develop and improve existing processes
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to multi-task and work with competing deadlines and diverse workloads Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Social Care and the issues affecting adults
Ability to communicate in Welsh
Hours Per Week: 37.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £10.42
