We are delighted to be offering the opportunity to join our surgical practitioner team as a trainee practitioner. This position would ideally suit an enthusiastic and dynamic healthcare professional from a nursing, ODP or allied health professional with a peri-operative background.
Support will be provided from an experienced multi-professional surgical team, allowing development of advanced surgical skills and professional competencies required for the role. The successful applicant will be required to complete an accredited SCP course delivered externally at Master’s level as part of the training programme and will be supported through this.
We are a dynamic and ambitious team, proud to be delivering high quality post-operative care for patients who are experiencing wound complications, through our SCP led outpatient’s clinic. We work alongside Cardiac and Plastics Consultants to ensure prompt, expert care delivery.

To act as first or second assistant under the surgeon direction of the consultant in cardiac surgical and thoracic procedures.
Following training, meet the competencies required to undertake surgical activities to ensure that high quality of patient care is maintained, and outcomes are met.
Contribute to surgical activity in areas outside of the theatre environment, including wound clinics and wards.
Provide visible leadership and act as a role model at all times, demonstrating the Trust values.
