The role
As a Communications Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Carrying out Level 1 inspection; testing and repair of all communications equipment used in a range of vehicles including the Ajax and the new Aries.
Day to day, you'll focus on the communications systems of AFV's and ensure they are up to standard for the client.
- Inspect & test communications equipment, compile job cards and inspection reports accurately detailing L1 and L2 work requirement
- Carry out Level 1 repairs of communications equipment in accordance with authorised procedures and to the highest possible standard
- Identify and order spare parts; correctly prepare equipment for Level 2 repair
- Respond to communications breakdowns during working hours and, when rostered, out of hours
- Drive, control, operate and maintain vehicles for which qualified
This role is full time, 38 hours based onsite at Bovington, Wareham.
Essential experience of the Communications Technician:
- IT literate with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of communications equipment
- Experience is not essential for this role as full training will be provided, however, willingness to learn and the right attitude is essential
Qualifications for the Communications Technician:
- Bowman maintainer trained to Advanced Signaller standard - preferred but not essential
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
