The role
As a Head of Engineering - Equipment Capability, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary in a dynamic and changing environment. The focus for the role will be to provide Engineering and Project leadership in support of the Equipment Capability element of the TLES evolving strategy.
As the strategy evolves, so will this role. Being comfortable with uncertainty and a flexible and enquiring approach, you'll be a key member of the Engineering leadership team delivering engineering support to the key business contracts within TLES. The areas include support to design, in-service support, data engineering, maintenance, repair and operations through the DSG contract and ad hoc support to arising opportunities. Essential to the role is the ability to interact with and work alongside our customers; primarily the British Army.
- Babcock TLES Equipment Engineering functional lead for Equipment Capability - including liaison with Army HQs and Divisions
- Engineering functional lead in support of (and lead) Through Life Platform Management Plans (TLPMPs) and future capabilities
- Engineering functional lead for Army equipment maintenance policy, standards and safety case management
- Engineering function lead for Integrated Logistic Support (ILS)
- Responsive to developing opportunities
This role is full time and will be based at either Andover or the South West / West Midland on site. There is a requirement to travel to other DSG sites and Europe as part of the role.
Essential experience of the Head of Engineering - Equipment Capability:
- Project Management experience - APMP
- Knowledge and experience of Army equipment maintenance policy, standards and safety case management
- Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) experience
- Experience of working alongside the Army customer and understanding of how the MOD, Army and Defence Equipment and Support function
Qualifications for the Head of Engineering - Equipment Capability:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
