We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our brand new supported living service in the village of St Margaret's at Cliffe near Dover.

This exciting new development will be home to four adults on the ground floor with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) requiring complex 24/7 care. You and your team will be supporting them to live as independently as possible in the community and support them to create their own home.

On the first floor, there will be two one-bed flats, for those with more mild to moderate difficulties who are able, with support, to live more independently and will be separate from the ground floor support. 

You will have the amazing opportunity to be part of the setup, planning of the service and building a positive and dedicated team over the next few months.

• Have a genuine desire to help, develop and maintain high quality service provision for the people we support in this service appropriate to their assessed needs.
• Have the skills and commitment to coaching and developing a new team, with an emphasis on Practice Leadership to develop and align best practices.
• Understands the balance between keeping people safe and positive risk taking.
• Has knowledge of the legal framework that apply in this service (e.g. DoLS, capacity and best interest requirements).
• Qualification to NVQ level 3, QCE level 5 or be willing to obtain this.
• Able to look at budgets and financial information to support the service remain financially viable.

We are looking for a Service Manager to join the team in our Greenwich/Kidbrooke Service.

This service is home to ten adults living across three bungalows who have multiple and profound learning disabilities and complex health needs, and are non-verbal.

Our people we support do enjoy going out and about into their local community so we are providing a service vehicle therefore it would be desirable for the successful applicant to hold a full UK driving license but this is not essential.

You will have the amazing opportunity to make a wonderful impact on people's lives and supporting the Service Manager to build and lead a great team who you will support on shifts as part of the role, receiving full support from the beginning of your journey with us.

In this role you will motivate and inspire your team to provide outstanding support through effective training, coaching, and leadership by example. Acting as a role model you will empower the people we support to have active and fulfilling lives aligned with their needs and aspirations. You will be responsible for transitions of the people we support, Rotas', support plans, managing budgets, and monthly reports as well as recruitment, development and management of staff. On call duties will also be included.

Due to the role, a majority of the working week will be Monday-Friday 9-5; however, there is some flexibility to adjust these hours across the week to suit the service. There could be some occasional shift work where you will need to observe practices and ensure standards are being maintained across the services. There is also an aspect of on call required within the role.

• Has the skills and commitment to coaching and developing a team, with an emphasis on Practice Leadership with to develop and align practice.
• Understands the balance between keeping the person safe and positive risk taking.
• Deliver best practice based on Positive Behavioral Support principles, adopting Active Support and delivering high quality person centered support.
• Level 5 diploma or equivalent experience.
• Able to look at budgets and financial information to support the service remain financially viable.
• Desirable to hold a valid driving license and have access to own vehicle.

In this role, you will work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate the team to provide a high quality service as well assist in implementing current legislation and CQC requirements. Within Meadowview there is currently 7 adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge. Individuals need support to enable them to participate in activities around the home and within the community such as swimming, bowling, visiting parks, home visits and weekly shops.

In this role you will be;

• Work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate the team to provide a high-quality service as well assist in implementing current legislation and CQC requirements
• Maintain a practical knowledge of policies and procedures and ensure appropriate usage.
• Effectively recruit, develop and manage employees in a fair and consistent manner.
• Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement.
• You will motivate and inspire your team to provide outstanding support through effective training, coaching and leadership by example
• Be expected to attend appointments with the people we support, attend care reviews, review and update care plans and risk assessments, record and monitor daily logs, lead shifts and administer medication
• Day to day support for the people we are supporting.
• Managing the service and the team within and meeting KPI's.

About YOU!

• Have experience of supporting people with Experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
• Have experience of working within Social Care.
• To be able to support people with their personal care.
• Be willing to lead by example and lead the team effectively.
• Good IT skills to use various systems and applications.
• Able to manage own time and workload.
• Be flexible to work across the different shift patterns on a 7-day rota.
• To be able to be part of an on-call rota.
