This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-established and friendly company whose main base is in Truro. They provide all aspects of property maintenance and repairs to commercial and residential property, with the properties mostly located within Cornwall, however some are out of county, so travel within the wider Southwest may be required.

As a Multi-Skilled Operative, your responsibilities will include general maintenance of the buildings including undertaking small repairs. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with outside contractors on more complex repairs. You will be required to carry out works on your own with little or no supervision. Works will be carried out safely, with health and safety at the forefront when carrying out tasks.

Hours are 40 hours per week, starting and finishing at the Company's offices, you will be required to manage your workload throughout the day aiming to achieve all tasks set in good time. Your line manager will liaise with you and other members of the Company to set daily task targets and broader work planning.

Requirements:

You must hold the following as a minimum:

• Full clean driving licence
• Good Health and Safety awareness
• Previous xperience of similar work
• You must have all round general maintenance skills, including general repairs, painting, and basic carpentry.
• Candidates must have a can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate initiative.
• A successful candidate would be asked to apply for a DBS (paid for by the company)

It would be desirable to have a trade or skill to bring to the post.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent position, working 40 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, but not excluding weekends. A vehicle is provided from the Company's office premises.

*Diagnose and repair all on-site plant / equipment, including hand tools, MIG welders, overhead cranes, plasma cutting machines, hydraulic presses, robot welders, CNC lathes / machining centres, etc.

*Install power cables and distribution boards for new equipment installations.

*Perform routine servicing and maintenance work and respond to breakdown requests from Production.

*Diagnose breakdowns of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

*Source parts for the servicing and repair of equipment and install new parts and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.

*Assist in the installation of new factory plant / equipment.

*Handle emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.

*Conduct periodic testing of emergency systems, such as fire alarms and emergency lighting.

*Coordinate with outside contractors during legislative inspections, such as LOLER.

Candidate Requirements

*Possess 18th Edition qualification

*The ability to work well in a team and hold strong communication skills

*Experience with Electrical fault finding

*Experience within industrial maintenance

* Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
