Salary: £35,400 - £42,480 per annum including shift allowance, must be qualified.
Must be able to weld, fault find and repair hydraulics work with cylinders and read technical drawings and be qualified NVQ level 3
Acorn by Synergie have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and established Shift Maintenance Engineer / Technician to join our client's team based at their site in Wednesfield.
What You Will Do
You would support our client's operations teams by performing necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activity and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability and productivity are optimised.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Health & Safety
* Perform activities. Ensure appropriate actions are implemented in order to eliminate risk.
Planned Maintenance / Breakdowns
* Working to planned schedules perform planned maintenance activities in line with documented / engineering practices. Maintain and repair processing machinery and ancillary equipment in line with documented / engineering practices in a safe and productive manner in order to maximise availability at optimum cost.
* Give feedback to the Maintenance planning function regarding issue / root cause / emerging work
* Ensuring clear and concise records are maintained in order trends can be determined and corrective actions identified.
* Through utilisation of the Planned Maintenance system ensure engineering spares and inventory on site are managed within budget constraints and equipment downtime is minimised.
* Facilitate optimal performance by working flexibly within the team and the context of the site, undertaking maintenance at short notice.
Training / Resource
* Be actively involved in own personal development plans to maximise performance in the role and the contribution to succession requirements of the business.
* Support the Operational team members in the development of autonomous maintenance practices. Deliver training to operators in order they are able to understand and implement basic maintenance activities facilitating optimum productivity.
What You Will Need
The position requires an competent engineer with experience in Service Centre or manufacturing activities. The engineer should be qualified to ONC or City & Guilds Mechanical or ONC or City & Guilds Electrical.
* Demonstrable experience of a relevant engineering discipline, continuous improvement processes, preventative maintenance techniques and dealing with contractors.
* Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate. The ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
* A knowledge of and ability to apply Continuous Improvement techniques.
