The AXA UK Commercial team in Bolton and Manchester are currently looking to enhance our Financial Lines Digital team and are excited to bring to market an opportunity to join them as a Trainee Financial Lines Underwriter. We’ve 3 trainee roles available which will provide a great opportunity to gain exposure of the market and develop key technical skills under the guidance of a specialist and supportive team.
As a Trainee Financial Lines Underwriter, you’ll receive training and development daily. You’ll also be dealing with customers, providing excellent service and working to demanding targets. Along with your natural ability to build relationships and deal comfortably and confidently with people over the phone, you’ll have the opportunity to gain a good understanding of this specialist team, what it does and where it sits within the wider AXA business.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. After an initial training period of around 6 months where you’ll be in the office full time, you'll then work at least 60% of your week away from home, either at our office in Bolton or Manchester, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:

Provide administration support to the wider team
Underwrite new business profitability, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practices
Monitor renewing risks and help with referrals
Develop broker relationships to enhance their knowledge of our products and appetite
Take pride in the service you offer to all customers and partners through involvement in the online distribution platforms for our Financial Lines
products
Take ownership of a specialism within the Financial Lines trade sectors

The role will provide the individual a great opportunity to gain exposure of the market and develop key technical skills, whilst under the guidance of a specialist and supportive team.
Our Management Liability Policy (MLP) is about proactively helping our clients manage their people, contracts, premises and data, empowering them to confidently identify the risks and vulnerabilities that could cause them difficulties - and should claims arise, providing protection against them. The role will involve analysing the exposure, setting terms and selling cover to our customers via our broker distribution network on our online platform. Our Professional Indemnity Policy (PI) is the insurance purchased by companies and individuals to protect themselves against claims for allegations of errors in the provision of their services. These firms can range from Accounts to Zoologists. The role will involve analysing the exposure, setting terms and selling cover to our customers via our Digital distribution network.
