As we experience an exciting growth trajectory and invest in our workforce of the future, we're excited to bring to market a fantastic opportunity for a Property and Casualty Mid-Market Underwriter to join us within our National Trading Centre, based in Bolton.
What you’ll be doing:
As Commercial Underwriter you’ll help drive and transform how we partner our broker portfolios, through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical and trading capability, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools on mobile technology to succeed. You’ll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth, across new business within the key markets.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. After an initial training period in the office, you'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Our main office is based in Bolton – we would however consider applications from across the UK – in this case, there would be a requirement to travel to Bolton at least once per month.

It’s an exciting time to join the Strategic Commercial Transformation Programme at AXA UK. We’re looking for a talented individual to join the growing team as a Junior Business Analyst on a 12 month fixed term contract. The Blueprint programme is built upon the foundation of transformational changes to the Commercial Operating Model that will deliver the planned GWP, loss ratio and expense ratio benefits committed to in our strategic business plan. These changes will be delivered through a combination of process, people, organisation and technology change that will come together to embody the new operating model.

What you’ll be doing:

Accurately and efficiently document business requirements and user stories in Axa’s tool of choice
Map process flows to support user stories
Ensure programme progress, risks and issues are reported, documented, and escalated as required through appropriate governance channels
Take ownership and responsibility to see problems through to conclusion
Develop deep understanding of the business and actively contribute to the definition of the to be business and IT architecture
Work alongside the Scrum master to ensure effective transition into new BAU operations

You’ll be proactive, outgoing and confident in dealing with our strategic partners, retaining and maximising business through the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Underwrite our products for SME customers profitably, accurately, consistently using the full range of appetite and tools available.
Be an advocate for AXA contributing to meetings with brokers to secure clients, you’ll be an active and visible coach to executive leaders who are change sponsors.
Monitor the overall performance of the book you’re responsible for and ensuring remedial action is taken to correct any performance issues.
