Salary: $70000 -$90000 depending on skills and experience
About the business
The Tewantin Noosa RSL is a non-for-profit organization. We are looking for motivated, outgoing, reliable, hardworking, and happy Chef to join our Kitchen Team on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Preparing and cooking food
• Developing and leading kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality food
• Supervising kitchen operations effectively and to a high standard while meeting labour targets
• Menu planning and development new recipes
• Timely and effective service of high-quality food
• Responsibility for managing the cost of goods and wage targets
• Rostering and shift management
• Stock management including ordering, rotation and wastage control
• Full knowledge of all operations and management of the Food Safety Program
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail in all areas of your work
To be successful in this role, you’ll need following skills:
• Budgeting for expenses and managing employees.
• Communicating instructions clearly and effectively to staff.
• Motivating kitchen staff and developing constructive and cooperative working relationships.
• Developing and preparing creative, interesting, and innovative recipes.
• Having a keen sense of taste and smell to create meals that customers will enjoy.
• Agility to handle knives and other cooking implements properly for cutting, chopping, and dicing.
• The ability to work long shifts overseeing the preparation and serving of meals.
• Time management skills to ensure efficiency in meal preparation and service.
About the successful candidate
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following:
• Relevant qualifications (Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent)
• Knowledge of OH&S
• Experience in menu planning
• Experience in budgeting
• A can-do attitude and strive to go above and beyond in all you do
• At least 2 years of work experience as a Chef
