The Role:
This is a fulltime permanent position, salary between $70k and 80k plus superannuation, depending on experience. Based at our Facility in Smithfield NSW with occasional site visits, you will report to the Operations Manager and will co-ordinate with our yard Manager. You will be responsible for the compiling of equipment, both Mechanical and Electrical, used in our swinging stage and rigging areas. All equipment is stringently logged and tested prior to sending to our job sites.

Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
You will be given a specification and will be required to fulfil a gear list for a specific project, you will be required to check our stocks, perform any testing of the equipment (where required) and compile the equipment with all the relevant records for maintenance history, ready for despatch with all the relevant data. Then test and tag the equipment and save all the documents into a job-data package.

The Successful Candidate

Bundaberg Sugar is seeking highly skilled Fitter & Turner to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.

The role includes but is not limited to:
• Be a member of the Emergency Response Team and attend training as required.
• Carry out Millaquin site plant maintenance and capital works as directed which pertains to skills held. Plant items include packaging equipment, conveyors, palletisers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels, valves, etc.
• Carry out Millaquin plant maintenance and capital works as directed which pertains to skills held. Plant items include mills, boilers, turbines, fugals, conveyors, carriers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels, pressure vessels, valves, etc
• Operate within a Computerised Maintenance Management System for all work undertaken
• Work in conjunction with parameters set by established condition monitoring techniques
• In relevant areas coach and assist other personnel within their roles
• Supply advice within competencies and skills regarding maintenance and related matters to contribute to safe and efficient operations
• Assist other personnel to establish appropriate programs and planning to ensure the availability of plant and equipment
• Assist with initiating and developing projects to enhance the availability and efficiency of Packaging, Refinery, Mill plant and equipment
• Completion of logs, risk assessments, permits, assessments and other administrative duties related to the role
• Undertake fitting or other tasks (e.g. welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.) within level of skills held and nominated to be used as part of the classification level
• Work effectively with the team to ensure that food safety and quality of the products is maintained in compliance with food safety standards
• Actively participate in the development and implementation of Company safety initiatives and objectives
• Comply with statutory requirements and company policies, rules and procedures including those relating to WHS, HR, Environment and Quality

To be considered for this role, you must have:
• Sugar Milling or refinery experience and/or maintenance background (or a food processing industry background)
• Current driver’s licence
• Trade qualifications as an Engineering Tradesperson (Fitting or Fitting and Turning)
• Experience in general fitting, basic welding, repair maintenance work, Computer literacy/knowledge and knowledge/experience of using Computerised Maintenance Management System

Bundaberg Walkers is seeking highly skilled CNC Machinist to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.

The role includes but is not limited to:
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometres and Vernier callipers.
Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during machining operations to ensure maximum efficiency.
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications and engineering drawings by using precision measuring equipment.
Understand engineering drawings to determine material and equipment requirements and task sequences.
Move parts into position manually or with hoists or cranes.
Set-up and operate, manual lathes, CNC machines, drills, presses, milling machines, measuring devices and other equipment as required.
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
Ensure records on applicable inspection sheets are kept up to date while performing tasks; cross checks are carried out on critical dimensions and the inspection sheet is handed in to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Provide trade guidance and assistance to apprentices as needed.
Operate and maintain manual handling equipment.
Clean and lubricate machines, tools and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign matter.
Ensure compliance with company safety, environment and quality policies and procedures.
Ensure records needed to verify conformity of product are maintained.

To be considered for this role, you must have:
Trade Qualified Machinist
5+ years in the manufacturing industry is desirable
Forklift and overhead/ mobile crane licences are desirable
First Aide Certificate is desirable
Where necessary, Working in Confined Spaces and Working at Heights tickets are desirable
Good ability to read and understand 2D AutoCAD and Inventor drawings
Good verbal and written communication skills with trade terminology.
Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to handle work accurately and swiftly while under extremely tight time constraints.
Able to work well with limited supervision.
Manual lathe and CNC machine skills are desirable

Bundaberg Sugar and Bundaberg Walkers are seeking highly skilled Mechanical Technicians to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.

The role includes but is not limited to:
Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers
Conduct root cause analysis, fault-finding and diagnosing efficient solutions to machine breakdowns
Installs, removes, inspects and repairs mechanical spare parts like bearings, seals on typical mechanical equipment.
Performs major overhaul of equipment with or without external contractors and vendors.
Disassembles, assembles, observes, repairs, tests, collects data and prepares reports on equipment, as tasks related to maintenance.
Maintaining non-electrical safety, process and utility equipment.
Perform power plant rigging, and lifting equipment necessary for safely handling heavy machinery and materials.
Advise and assist engineering and scientific professional staff in the design of advanced and complex mechanical equipment or system.
Troubleshoot process equipment, automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line.
Ensuring that products meet compliance regulations.
Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Carry out work instructions as given by Supervisor, work specifications, equipment operation.
Supports improvement projects.
Fabricates and repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
Controls downtime by performing routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine operational performance.
Perform duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
Installing and commissioning new equipment as directed.
Understand customer change request and provide schedule

To be considered for this role, you must have:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
Knowledge in wide variety of machine diagnostics software highly regarded
Documentation skills, must be able to maintain accurate records of maintenance service history
