About the job:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Qualified Social Worker to join our Permanence Team in Bury. As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert social work services with a focus on achieving permanency for children and young people through adoption, long-term fostering, or other suitable arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Permanency Planning:
• Conduct thorough assessments of children and their families to determine the most appropriate permanency options.
• Develop and implement permanency plans in collaboration with children, their families, and relevant professionals.
2. Adoption and Fostering:
• Facilitate the adoption and long-term fostering process, ensuring that children's needs and well-being are central to decision-making.
• Work closely with adopters, foster carers, and other stakeholders to provide ongoing support and guidance.
3. Court Proceedings:
• Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, providing evidence and recommendations related to permanency decisions.
• Collaborate with legal professionals and attend court hearings as required.
4. Support and Advocacy:
• Advocate for the best interests of children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
• Provide support and guidance to birth families, adoptive families, and foster carers to facilitate successful permanency arrangements.
5. Collaboration and Networking:
• Collaborate with professionals across disciplines, including health, education, and mental health services, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting children and families.
6. Record Keeping and Compliance:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and permanency plans.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and ethical standards.
7. Continuous Professional Development:
• Stay abreast of developments in the field of permanency planning and social work through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements:
· 1 year of qualified Social Work experience
· DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply for one
· 5 years of satisfactory references
· Driving License with access to a vehicle
· SWE Registered
