About the job:
As a Senior Social Worker within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Slough, your role is pivotal in coordinating and facilitating the timely assessment and intervention for children and families at risk. Operating at the intersection of various agencies, you will lead assessments, collaborate with professionals, and contribute to the early identification of safeguarding concerns. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in the protection and support of children in the diverse community of Slough.
Responsibilities:
Assessment and Coordination:
Lead and conduct comprehensive assessments of incoming safeguarding concerns, collaborating with partner agencies and professionals.
Coordinate information-sharing and communication between agencies to ensure a holistic understanding of risks and needs.
Decision-Making and Referrals:
Contribute to the decision-making process regarding the appropriate level of intervention and support required.
Make timely and accurate referrals to relevant services and agencies based on assessment outcomes.
Case Management:
Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring that interventions are initiated promptly and effectively.
Work closely with partner agencies, such as police, health services, and education, to streamline safeguarding processes.
Supervision and Support:
Provide supervision and support to junior staff, guiding them in the assessment and decision-making process.
Contribute to the professional development of the team through training initiatives and knowledge-sharing.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, decisions, and interventions.
Prepare detailed reports for case conferences, court appearances, and other relevant documentation as required.
Requirements:
· 1 year of qualified Social Work experience
· DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply for one
· 5 years of satisfactory references
· Driving License with access to a vehicle
· SWE Registered
