About the job:
As a Senior Social Worker specialising in Contact and Assessment in the dynamic setting of West London, you will take a leadership role in ensuring the welfare of children and families. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting thorough assessments, managing complex cases, and providing guidance to a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Decision Making: Lead the assessment process for children and families referred to the service, making informed and timely decisions based on comprehensive evaluations.
Supervision and Support: Provide supervision and support to a team of social workers, ensuring the highest standards of practice. Offer guidance on complex cases and contribute to professional development.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including health professionals, schools, and community services, to gather information and develop holistic assessments.
Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure that assessments and interventions adhere to statutory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
Case Management: Oversee a caseload of complex cases, conducting regular reviews and ensuring that plans are effective, responsive, and in the best interests of the children involved.
Supervision of Contact: Facilitate and supervise contact between children and their families, ensuring that it is conducted in a safe and child-focused manner.
Training and Development: Contribute to the ongoing professional development of the team by providing training, mentoring, and sharing expertise on best practices in contact and assessment.
Report Writing: Prepare clear and comprehensive reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant forums. Ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of the needs of the children and families.
Requirements:
· 1 year of qualified Social Work experience
· DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply for one
· 5 years of satisfactory references
· Driving License with access to a vehicle
· SWE Registered
