CACI is seeking an Environment Health and Safety Intern for the Spring 2024 semester. This role will be hybrid, with the expectation that you will be onsite 90% of the time.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Under general guidance from the Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS), you will get to work on projects and opportunities to develop technical skills while contributing to the environmental health and safety initiatives of the employees on site.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections specific to the general facility and laboratory. Assist EHS manger with characterization of hazardous process waste and work on developing a detailed waste analysis plan for each facility.
- Assist the EH&S Manager in reviewing, updating and development of the following EHS Programs: Hazardous Communication, Fire Protection Plan, Incident Reporting and Corrective Action, Radiation Frequency Safety, Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Analysis, Laser Safety & Machine Shop Safety.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must currently be a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate student pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required.
- Familiarity with OSHA general industry regulations 29 CFR 1910.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA Hazard Communications Standards, Safety Data Sheets and the new United Nation’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
- Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZwopper) Training a plus.
- Upon hire, immediate successful completion of the following training programs is required: Hazard Communications Training; Global Harmonized System Training; Hazardous Waste; Accident Investigation; Lab Safety.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required.
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities(professional/community/extracurricular).
