What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be part of an interactive and fast paced drug discovery research group within the Cardiometabolic Disorders Therapeutic Area. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual responsible for establishing and performing laboratory-based assays to develop a deeper understanding of the underlying disease biology for top cardiometabolic indications and screening of potential therapeutics.
Responsibilities:
- Establish in vitro cell-based assays mimicking disease biology. Candidate must independently lead assay development, demonstrating strong scientific judgement at both experiment and project levels.
- Investigate the underlying mechanisms of disease biology by analyzing insights gleaned from single cell sequencing data and other in vitro and in vivo studies.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to support the drug discovery pipeline.
- Effectively interpret and communicate results through oral presentations.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree or
Master’s degree and 3 years of scientific experience or
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of genetic pathways altered in prevalent diseases like heart failure, amyloidosis, liver disease, or chronic kidney diseases.
- Postdoctoral training preferred.
- Technical expertise: Flow cytometry, high content imaging, general molecular biology, biochemical, immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, RT-qPCR, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA.
- Experience in establishing rodent genetic models of chronic diseases is advantageous.
- Industry experience in preclinical assay development is also a plus.
