This position is an integrated Finance Department position with a primary focus in supporting physician compensation incentive plans, including administration and calculations, faculty practice budget, financial analytics, and overall support to the Director of Finance – Faculty Practice Business Partner. With oversight from Director, position provides financial support to Practice Administration and Department leadership. Assists with supporting the management systems and programs used to monitor, assess, manage, and control the resources of and services provided by the Faculty Practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the implementation and administration of the Sullivan Cotter Clinician Nexus – Performance Suite, a physician compensation software comprised of modules for keeping physicians engaged and retained by transparently aligning compensation and performance goals.
- Supports Provider Practices with budget preparation, including but not limited to development of charge and net revenue targets, staffing, and capital needs. Works in close collaboration with cost center managers to prepare financial plans providing assistance and direction as necessary.
- Supports FPG operations team in analyzes and monitoring of revenues, expenditures, and trends for general budget compliance and to identify and determine the nature of variances, unexpected trends and/or financial impacts. Aids with cost center standardization and oversight.
- Supports leadership with financial analysis related to pay plan and other compensation initiatives including Faculty & APP incentive programs.
- Prepares physician production/compensation, staffing FTE, RVU’s and other monthly reports and analysis. Utilizing external vendors such as MGMA, AAMC and CPSC to provide physician / APP compensation and productivity metrics.
- Supports Director for approval of all personnel within Workday, to ensure compliance with AMC pay policies and position control protocols. Assist in the review of unbudgeted expenditures.
- At the direction of the Director, supports leadership with financial analysis and insight for business operation improvement initiatives (Business Plan Development).
- Assists Director in providing communication, training, and guidance to the FGP Administrators and Managers regarding AMC financial policies and procedures including compliance, authority to act, etc.
- Ensures integrity of Clinical Practice Solutions Center benchmarking tool. This shall encompass all aspects of the data that is transmitted to CPSC to ensure accuracy.
- With the direction of the Director, provides educational training in the functional use of all enterprise financial systems.
- Support of value analysis and Pillars teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree - required
- Master's Degree or CPA - preferred
- A minimum of 3 years healthcare finance experience that includes relevant knowledge of physician practice financial operations - required
- Advanced data management skills.
- Expertise in billing and payer reimbursement methods for hospital-based provider and physician services.
- Working understanding of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and the use of Modifiers.
- Expertise in statistical and financial modeling.
- Working understanding of health care general ledger, physician compensation, billing, scheduling, and supply management tools.
- Working understanding of financial decision support tools and external physician benchmarking tools.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- A team player working within the chain of command.
- Strong organizational ability including ability to document within structured tools various initiatives.
- A working style to effectively work across entities and disciplines.
- Strong leadership skills.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
