Leidos is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Climate, Energy & Environmental Division’s onsite laboratory in Cleveland, Ohio, supporting the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Harshaw Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) project. This position will require the use of radiological counting instrumentation to support onsite environmental remediation work. The Laboratory Technician will be performing sample analysis by gamma spectroscopy and gross alpha/beta counting. This position will also assist with data analysis, review, and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform formal chain-of-custody sample receipt, verification of sample information, and logging of samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Perform sample analysis using instrumentation including gamma spectroscopy and gross alpha/beta analysis.
• Maintain a clean laboratory environment by following all laboratory decontamination procedures.
• Processing of sample results from the instrumentation to the LIMS and subsequent email reporting to data users.
• Complete data package assembly including primary and secondary reviews and to identify and correct mistakes and inconsistencies utilizing apex and LIMS software.
• Applicant must be able to follow all radiation and safety procedures in all areas of the laboratory.
• Applicant must be willing to work on other laboratory projects and some travel to other Leidos laboratories to support setup or laboratory operations.

Basic Qualifications:

• An associate degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology or a related scientific discipline or a High School Diploma and 2 years’ experience working in a laboratory type setting. Any prior experience with radioactive materials, radiation protection, operating gamma spectroscopy systems or gross alpha beta counting systems is desirable.
• Capable of reviewing, compiling, and providing data files to users.
• Capable of performing counting procedures on gamma and gross alpha/beta samples.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with LIMS software is preferred.

Are you a Senior Software Engineer who wants to lead and perform software development tasks for our team that is focused on the modeling, simulation, and related tool development supporting the analysis of aerospace weapons, sensors, and related C4ISR entities?

The Senior Software Engineer will work with a diverse team of developers and engineers to develop solutions to complex technical problems while supporting DoD and intelligence community projects. Leidos is seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer to support efforts in Dayton, Ohio.  As the Electronics Systems Engineer, you will perform circuit-level design and testing and coordination of related systems engineering efforts.  When new circuits or related amplifiers and detectors are needed for testing of optical systems, you will help design and develop these capabilities.  It is important that the successful candidate have good design and testing skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform shielding risk-reduction activities
• Support non-characterization test activities including local efforts and outside test lab efforts
• Support PCBA build, design review, and troubleshooting
• Gather requirements from teams and create system design for radiometric suite electronics and present findings to government leads
• Support verification activities and PCBA parts acquisition
• Organize the systems engineering design documentation, and apply systems engineering design documentation to continued development of the sensor without future DRA involvement
• Perform modeling for new sensor research

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience that includes at least one total year of experience in PCBA design and one year of optical testing
• Strong communication skills to engage with multidiscipline teams
• Must be a U.S Citizen and have an active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• Experience with optical radiometrics
• Experience with analog circuit design and testing
