Leidos is seeking a dynamic Chief Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Federal Civil IT teams within the Digital Modernization Sector. This position will be supporting the cybersecurity program of a federal agency within the Washington DC area.
The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer is a key role and will serve as the Leidos primary interface to the Government lead on all matters pertaining to Enterprise Cybersecurity. The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will provide technical leadership to evaluate, recommend, design, and integrate new cyber security technology and tools by conducting feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects, and other research and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their ability to:
Independently performs a variety of system design and integration tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with design, implementation and architecting of major systems, systems of systems, integration of systems elements and related support systems.
Lead the assessment and analysis of organizational progress against existing cyber security strategies as well as identify, implement, and maintain new strategies that address the vision, mission and goals of stakeholders and senior leaders.
Provide guidance and direction on assessing enterprise risk exposure through weaknesses in platforms, access controls, and configuration of the enterprise network systems and the data contained within
Provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that protect and monitors the enterprise networks Provide guidance and leadership for the development of highly innovative cyber security solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts.
Basic Qualifications:
US Citizenship
Top Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a cyber related discipline and 12+ years of prior relevant work experience within IT/Cybersecurity, 4 years additional experience by be considered in lieu of a degree
CISSP certification
4+ years’ cybersecurity engineering experience directly supporting federal government as a government or contract employee.
Extensive experience creating and executing migration plans to migrate services, applications, or data from on-premises to hybrid or multi-cloud environments
Comprehensive understanding and operational experience with federal requirements such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
Identify security relevant data and tools in both on-prem and cloud mission areas, develop solutions for evolving capabilities, and make formal recommendations to stakeholders
In-depth understanding of cyber security architectures, technical platforms, threat management standards and industry best practices
Experience with communicating with vendors, designing solutions, and selecting technologies for implementation
Experience and ability to successfully negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
Ability to drive culture change and transformation including the delivery of improved services and capabilities.
Possesses broad knowledge base with key IT technologies, system engineering, IT processes and lifecycle methodologies, technical project execution and management, and IT modernization and transformation.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Top Secret SCI Clearance
CISM, CISSP-ISSEP, GSLC or CCISO Certifications
Knowledge and familiarity with the fundamental of agile project management
Experience working in both Classified and Unclassified operations.
Experience working with SOC environments supporting multi-tenant operations

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
