What you will do

This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.

How you will do it

• Capable of installing cabling, field equipment & control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines.
• Can use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation
• Performs system checks for proper operation.
• Knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work paying close attention to details.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to analyze information.
• Can work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and is self-motivated to complete jobs.
• Completes and submits all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct End- User training.
• Ability to isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable

What we look for

Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A+ certification required.
• Significant background (3+ year experience) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• Significant background (3+ year experience) in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Must be computer literate to include advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Is proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.

Preferred

• Associate Degree or 2-year technical school program graduate preferred.
• An industry-recognized apprentice training program may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
• Specialized training/ certification in the following categories:
• Access Control (at least 3 certifications from the following)
• Prowatch
• C-Cure 800 or C-Cure 9000
• Casi- Facility Commander or Picture Perfect or Secure Perfect
• CCTV- Analog (at least 1 certifications from the following)
• Bosch
• Pelco
• American Dynamics
• Cisco
• CCTV- IP (at least 1 certifications from the following)
• Genetec
• Indigo Vision
• Visitor Management (experience in any of the following preferred)
• Honeywell Lobby Works
• Stopware
• Access Sentry
• Additional experience a plus: MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems and Security Gate Operators.

What you will do 

The Fabrication Engineer is an office-based electrical engineering resource who supports the design and implementation of small/large complex jobs. They will work closely with local resources, either internal or subcontracted, to ensure a clear understanding of both electrical system design and scope of work from a technical perspective.

As a Fabrication Engineer you will be responsible for early awareness of large jobs & engagement with Sales Teams, the Centers of Excellence (COE), and Field Leadership. It will be important to develop awareness of the technical competencies within the markets they support and recognize when delivery challenges may arise.

This position is ultimately responsible for improving the customer experience and the financial performance of the jobs that it supports. 
 

How will you do it

• Supporting the fabrication of large/complex jobs within the fabrication group. 

• Monitoring both ‘Customer Experience’ and ‘Est. vs. Act. GM%’ trends within their assigned markets. 

• Reviewing & reconciling system design, cost estimates, and scope of work documents for jobs in their area.

• Participating in internal and external (customer) meetings as needed to review delivery plans.

• Tracking parts inventories for Specialty Products production, especially custom parts with long lead times. Ordering parts when quantities are low.

• Ability to transfer internal parts and assemblies.

• Hands on fabrication of electrical boxes, including wiring configuration, wire terminations and sheet metal fabrication.

• Communicating proactively with Sales Teams and Centers of Excellence (COE) regarding new opportunities early in the pursuit/proposal process. 

• Tracking productive time (activity categories & categories) to capacity and financial performance models.

• Provide monthly updates for each project within the forecast tool.

• Provide accurate documentation for billing cycle for each project.

What we look for 

Required

• Must have Electrical experience and design, and computer networking skills. Mechanical design skills and experience is a plus.

• Knowledgeable in network architectures.

• Relevant experience in electrical systems integration.

• Ensure that accurate documentation of SOW and performance is maintained.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently while paying close attention to detail.

• Ability to balance and communicate options.

Preferred

• Working knowledge of critical JCI platforms including Compass, TIP, Oracle, etc. preferred.

• Knowledgeable in security architectures.

• Experience or Proficiency in AutoCAD.
