New England Excess Exchange (NEEE) seeks a self-motivated and success-oriented Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant for its home office in Barre, VT or its Mid-Atlantic Regional Office located in Richmond, VA. We allow for a hybrid work environment after initial on boarding and training.

At NEEE, Underwriting Assistants are the key to ensuring a successful workflow for the underwriter and retail agent. We are seeking a detailed oriented, customer-service-driven individual who is team-oriented and performance-focused.
In this position, you will work with the Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter to manage the insurance quoting process and communicate efficiently with retail insurance agents and internal team members. Responsibilities include communicating with retail agents, utilizing various insurance carrier portals, utilizing internal database tools, and assisting underwriters with insurance quoting, documentation and correspondence.
Education and Experience
- College degree OR equivalent business experience preferred but not required.
- Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred, but can be completed after the date of hire either in a classroom setting or by self-study
- Strong communication and organizational skills, networking and relationship ability and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
